I'm not sure where you're getting the PGR vibe from. This looks more like a TOCA Race Driver (ala V8 Supercars) clone.

Yeah, I'd comment and say it looks good...but I'd just be setting myself up for more disappointment.

It'd be nice if they released more then 2 shots and also some actual in game footage and not some touched up footage which appears to be from a video which will appear in the game.
