New add-on pack for Halo Wars

360 News | Includes new game modes and achievements.
Microsoft has announced the impending arrival of a new add-on pack for Halo Wars called the 'Strategic Options game add-on pack'.

A release date and pricing for the pack are still to be announced, but it will be available in "the coming weeks".

The pack will provide players with three new game modes:

  • Keepaway Mode - is the Halo Wars version of 'capture the flag' where teams have to capture a free-roaming Forerunner Sentinel before the other team to score points.

  • Tug of War Mode - is a battle where success is determined by the combination of army, buildings and resources left standing at the end.

  • Reinforcement Mode - in this mode active battle units are provided in successive waves and players have to adapt tactics and use the changing set of units to tackle the enemy.

The pack will also include four new achievements worth 100 points.

I'd like to see a gametype where you cant rush. I get rushed so often and it isnt fun, i like building up my army and taking theirs head on.

If it's free (considering MS, extremely unlikely), I'm in.

Reinforcement Mode looks like a welcome breath of rush-free strategy.

But to me these look like single player modes? Or coop modes.
