Brutal Legend creator doesn't worry about sales

360 News | What, Schafer worry?
A few days ago, we reported that Brutal Legend creator Tim Schafer had ruled out using a guitar controller in the upcoming heavy metal/fantasy game starring Jack Black. In the same interview with MTV Multiplayer, Schafer was quizzed on the possibility of poor sales despite critical acclaim, as occurred with his last game, Psychonauts.

"Fans worry too much about sales, to tell you the truth," said Schafer. "As long as you make a cool game, publishers want to talk to you… (They say,) ‘We liked Psychonauts, and we think we could have sold it better.'"

Regardless of this laissez-faire attitude to sales, Schafer seems confident that sales of Brutal Legend will be strong, as it "is a game that naturally has more commercial hooks, like hot babes and Jack Black."

Shafer's games are certainly unique to say the least. Psychonauts was great but was an unknown. Atleast this has a media presence somewhat. A good marketing team can be alot more important than a good game. Just look at what happened with the dreamcast.

Well I sure as hell am going to get the game if it's good.

I'm getting this, purely because Tim Schafer and double fine are such good devs, and have put out some incredible work before. (as a team and individually)
