Oblivion DLC half price

360 News | The price of horse armour? Doubled.
Those wacky folks at Bethesda have come up with a unique way to celebrate April Fool's Day.

They've halved the price of nearly all downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Yep, that means the Shivering Isles expansion, the Knights Of The Nine quest and smaller packs like Mehrunes' Razor are all half price. That puts Shivering Isles at 1200 Microsoft points instead of 2400, Knights Of The Nine for 400 points instead of 800, and so on. Not a bad deal for those who hadn't already downloaded them.

The one exception to this rather generous offer? The price of the universally derided Horse Armour DLC, which has doubled from 200 points to 400 points. Oh Bethesda, how you make us chortle.

The price changes are in effect currently and will last for a week, so be sure to take advantage while it lasts.

Stupid April Fools, you can't believe anything.

Heh, that horse armour was probably the WORST DLC ever offered by anyone ever.

Even free it would have been laughable... Just an example of one of the thinks that would have been fine as part of the game, but make no sense being released on it's own.

Great to see they have a good sense of humour about it though. icon_smile.gif

Agreed.
Why do you need horse armor anyway? Such a waste.

Then again, i'd love to know how many they've sold at double.

You do realise the double price thing is an April Fools joke?

I'm speechless.

Not about the price drop, the fact that people still put their time and money into Oblivion.

I still play Oblivion to this day. I freakin' love it! I've put 100 of hours into it and i'm not even half way through the main quest. It's one of those games I think I be playing forever. I'll play it solidly for a month, get a new game, not play it for a few months, then rediscover all it's glory. I can't believe your not still playing it!

And some people (ala my best mate) have just bought it so it's all new to him as well, not all people buy games on release. Some of us wait.

I've been meaning to pick up Oblivion for ages now but never gotten around to it. I wonder if it's cheaper to buy the classic version and then download the extra content rather than get the GOTY edition...

It just depends on how much you can get it for.

If you manage to get the orginal at the EB 2 for $50 sale, then its about $20 extra to download shivering islands so thats $45. But the GOTY edition is $50 preowned, which I think is a better deal as you pay $5, but don't use your HD space and quota. Otherwise it's about $60 new.

This is all assuming you've got a 360 (which i think you do.) I've got mine for PS3, which is actually the better version of the 2 as it came out later and has better graphical and loading differences.

But seriously, it's worth it. I know some people winge about it, but I thinks its one of the best value for money games going around. But prepare to say goodbye to the real world, your friends and family, and your job as it does suck your soul a little.

April fools?
So your saying if I still played Oblivion (god help me) that they would refund my purchase of overpriced horse armor with a massive "LOL!!!"?
Unlikely...

I played Oblivion until the awesomeness of Fallout came.
