Guitar Hero Metallica demo now available on the Marketplace

360 News | Ride the Lightning to St. Anger: first stop, XBL.
A few hours ago Activison released a demo for the upcoming Guitar Hero Metallica on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Coming in at a hefty 1.02 GB, the demo apparently features Metallica’s Sad But True and Seek And Destroy, as well as No Excuses from Alice In Chains and Stone Cold Crazy from Queen. Other than that, you can expect the trademark Guitar Hero gameplay while rocking out to your favourite tunes.

Guitar Hero Metallica is scheduled to be released on May 27th this year on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii platforms.

Just a correction, it's 1.02gb according to the XBL Download page.

Figured that an extra 200mb may throw some people off. icon_razz.gif

I don't understand why they bother;

Chances are people who download it already have a guitar controller (I think most without one wouldn't care/assume it needs one), therefore they already have a Guitar Hero game. I doubt there are any significant changes with this release of the game - you just get to try a handful of the songs..

0.02gb's would only be 20mb (20.48mb, technically). Nothing to throw people off a 1gb download.

No it's because it says 1.2GB in the article when it's 1.02GB on XBLM. That's the (approx) 200MB difference he's referring to.

That'll learn me for not even reading the article.

Whoops, thanks Eyce. I'll fix that up.

As for the demo, after playing it, it's alright.

The Rock Band Drums work perfectly fine on the demo, however the cuts into the bass line still line up with the full 5-note chart design, so it does look a little off in that respect.

Guitar solos on the Metallica songs feel really dodgy with strums that just break the fun. icon_confused.gif
