Red Xbox 360 more than just a rumour

360 News | Red Elite console confirmed.

Over the last few weeks, rumours have circulated about the existence of red Xbox 360 consoles. The rumours have turned out to be true, confirmed by a product listing that has appeared on Xbox Live.

The console is being sold as part of a limited edition package to celebrate the release of Resident Evil 5. THose you purchase the Resident Evil Limited Edition Console will get a red coloured Elite Xbox 360 console with matching wireless controller. Also included in the package is a 120 GB HDD, wired headset, an exclusive Resident Evil Premium Theme, plus a copy Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Resident Evil 5.

Currently, it is not confirmed whether this limited edition Resident Evil package will be available on our shores, but we'll keep you updated as we know more.

If I had a dollar for every person I've seen reply with that comment on this story in the last few days...

The redness is sexiness, I'd jump on it if I didn't already have my boring old beige 360. I dunno about the contrast with the red vs green with the lights though, seems a bit rabbitohsish and that's never a good thing.

did anyone read the article or did everyone just read the title? from reading some comments i think some just read the title.
the article clearly says its part of a limited edition resident evil package, so I'm sure alot of people who don't currently own but are interested in buying a 360 would be interested in this red limited edition 360.
i think it would look pretty cool sure beats a plain old white/black/grey machine.
I would of loved one of those simpsons 360's all yellow, would have been a sweet collectors item.

Lots of people would buy for colour - I even vaguely remember someone on the game exchange forum on this site wanting to sell off one DS Lite because he wanted to get another one in a different colour (could have been a different site).

And red is pretty funky. I just bought a red controller and even my daughter thinks it rocks.

The Red Elite is an EB exclusive. I'm seriously considering trading my old Elite for it because for 569 u get RE5 AND Halo Wars Ltd ed, both of which i'd be getting anyways, so with my trade-in it'll only cost me about $130, and then I've got a more reliable 360 with all the new hardware + a new 3 year warranty! Not to mention a fugly red Xbox, but u can hardly see it where I keep it so it doesn't really matter.

It's going to depend on what it means by "exclusive RE 5 Theme" if i get it or not,
If it like the halo one the i will get it if it just a picture theme on the screen then i won't bother, as i am already getting the uber editions for ps3 & 360.

That Red one looks nice, I wouldn't mind picking one up. Looks perfect to do some custom work on.
