Dead to Rights coming to current-gen consoles

360 News | Jack Slate to find retribution in 2009.
Namco Bandai announced today that a new entry for the Dead to Rights series is currently in development for current-gen consoles.

The next installment in the series, Dead to Rights: Retribution will again see Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow prowling the mean streets of Grant City. Though we can expect to see the same main character and noir influences from the previous title, Namco Bandai is billing this title as a "ground-up reinvention" of the franchise.

Dead to Rights: Retribution will attempt to distinguish itself from similar titles out there by attempting to become a true hybrid of the third-person shooter and beat-'em-up genres - giving players the chance to put Slate's marksman abilities to the test, whilst also seamlessly transitioning into close quarter combat to let the hardened cop test out his hand-to-hand combos and disarming techniques on accommodating foes. Namco has also stated that players will have the chance to to take control of Shadow in certain situations throughout the game.

Dead to Rights: Retribution is expected to arrive on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year.
