GTA IV online play free for Live silver members

360 News | Coincidently timed with the release of The Lost and Damned.
Microsoft has revealed that Xbox Live silver members will be able to play Grand Theft Auto IV online for five days later this month, in order to promote the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content, The Lost and Damned.

Starting at 4am AEST on February 18th - the release date of The Lost and Damned - silver members will be able to have online escapades in Liberty City free of charges for five days, concluding on the 23rd of February at 7pm AEST. Hurrah for free things! Unfortunately, GTA IV and the expansion will be the only games that silver members can play.

If you've forgotten, The Lost and Damned will see players take control of biker Johnny Klebitz as he undoubtedly goes on various crime-ridden adventures. It will cost an incredibly steep 1600 MS points - though, apparently, it will offer around a third of the content seen in the original, making things slightly less painful on the wallet.

Noice! Being stuck in Silver at the moment this gives me an opportunity to get in on some GTA madness with PALGN folken again. Anyone up for a rocket to the face (or drive bys from the back on an ambulance? I'm looking at you, Gizmo)?

haha good call, let me know a convenient day, i need to get the game back from my brother, but count me in for an online gun fight complete with smack talk.

I'm also looking at bitchacho, samiboi, benno, al3x, theAnswer and Cerebral. and if Theory has it, consider yourself looked at too

I've never actually tried the GTAIV multi, so this seems like a good excuse to give it a whirl. Be gentle with me, it's my first time.

ok well lets all organise a date and a time and make this happen.

im thinking wednesday feb 18, thursday feb 19 or friday feb 20

or having a three night marathon effort.
put down your name, night of preference and xbox live gamer tag up so we can get a decent group together for this

I've only played it online a few times, but I very quickly learnt that auto-aim is Not Good Enough. I was constantly getting pwned by bratty teens with a pistol (We all had voice, so I *know* they were bratty teens. icon_wink.gif ).

Mind you, a few games of that and I found that my shooting had improved so much that the rest of the single-player campaign was a breeze.

I'm looking forward to the expansion, it'll give me an excuse to pull this game out again. icon_smile.gif
