Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen formally announced

360 News | Another licensed game announcement that surprises no one.
A couple of days ago Activision formally announced there will be a videogame tie-in for the highly anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film.

Understandably, not a lot of information has been revealed, though players can look forward to assuming the role as the Autobots or Decepticons in the main story mode. Activision has stated there will be ‘a diverse range of playable Transformers’, with each one having their own unique abilities and weapons. Players can also freely switch between vehicle and robot modes at any time. Locations in the game will include Cairo and Shanghai, and there will be online competitive multiplayer modes.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is scheduled to be released alongside the film later this year. For those interested, developer Luxoflux are working on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, while the PC version is being made at Beenox Studios. Australia’s own Krome Studios is also hard at work on versions for the Wii and PlayStation 2, and the Nintendo DS and PSP versions are being handled by Vicarious Visions and Savage Entertainment respectively.

The Transformers game created by Melbourne House for PS2 was really good. The same mob (now Chrome Studios) are creating the Wii and PS2 titles, however unfortunately they are not doing the 360 and PS3 versions.
