Is it just me, or does FEAR2 look all... I dunno... almost cartoony in some of those shots? As opposed to the stark realism of FEAR... I'll have to play the demo again I think...

I... would not have picked that as FEAR 2 if it wasn't in the title of the article.

It looks more like The Conduit

How come all the shots look like there is motion blur

I believe the slow-motion feature is at play while the shots were taken.

This might be a comparisson that only the older gamers wil get, but (going off those shots alone) the step up from FEAR to FEAR 2 reminds me of step up from BLOOD to BLOOD2.

Which is actually fitting, I guess, as both games come from Monolith.

But yeah, where the first title was pretty dark and gritty looking with a foot pretty firmly placed inside the 'stylised realism' court, the sequel looks to use a vastly expanded colour palette (almost too much given the style of game) and chunkily designed weapons that don't quite gel with the theme.

I admit that after seeing this my hopes for FEAR 2 have fallen a touch.

There's motion blur / trails on the 360 demo, even when you're not in slow-mo.

It's a little annoying but I found I didn't notice it after a while. The character movement seems painfully slow however, which is something I'm not so sure I can warm to...

these screenshots looks terrible, but the actual game is terrific. I've played the demo, if you're with bigpond or your ISP hosts bandwidth-free downloads, get the F.E.A.R. 2 demo. It's definately worth a look at.
