Fable 2 DLC dated

360 News | Out next week.
Microsoft has announced via a press release that the Knothole Island DLC for Fable 2 will be available on the marketplace from January 13th.

The Knothole Island content lets players explore an island (who would have thought?) that is covered in snow. Priced at 800 MS point, players are tasked with bringing warm temperatures back to the locals. Microsoft also mentioned a new update will be released that will give players new items including Knight Boots, Assassins Gloves, a special weight loss potion and a collectible silver book.

Accompanying the press release were four screenshots of Knothole Island, all of which can be found in the media panel below. While you wait for January 13 to arrive, you can head over to our review of Fable 2 by clicking here.

OMG white ground instead of the usual brown/green?!?!?!? I NEED this NOW!!!

Also I can't wait to try out that potion so I can turn into a lass. They really should've put a feature like that in the game, it would've been awesome to have that choice from the begining.....oh wait...it was? Bummer! Oh well the feature is so good I NEED to pay for it again, especially on the fly, so I can change my sex back and forth....for no reason whatsoever...oh the joy! If only real life were this fun!

lol @ ugh... I wouldn't mind an estrogen potion, my chick looks bulky and testosterony as it is. She doesn't need a sex change.

This is good timing... I now have my own 360 + internets + hard drive. Sweet.

This is a missed opportunity bigtime!! Why couldn't they create some extra content around that Halo/Masterchief story that's already hinted at in the game when you get Masterchief sword/armour? They've already laid the groundwork for it they could've just given us a chapter of the game set in a land of old? Honestly 800 points....what's that? $10? 15? That's like 1/6th of the price of a full game, they can atleast give us something a bit fresh/original and interesting.

It would've been awesome playing as masterchief in Fable land and the character model, armour, weapons all those art assets are drawn, they would've just had to create a new land with some new missions. Now that I would've bought, it would've added so much more depth and character to the game and also made it a bit of a collectible download because of the Halo/Fable collboration. As it is what we're paying for could be something you would've actually skipped over in the original game....hence not that interesting to begin with. Also if anyone missed out on the original armour and weapons this would kinda be like another way of getting it because at the end of the quest Masterchief/you leave it in a chest and fly off in your spaceship or whatever.

What's the bet that at the end of this snow island there is a treasure chest with 400 gold or sum shit!

I wonder if they'll ever get around to patching the horrible co-op mode and the numerous bugs in the game.
A patch is also due for release as well isn't it? I think that was annouced with this DLC the first time.

I can't recall what the patch does though. Hopefully it does fix up a majority of the bugs.

I actually managed to play through the whole game without ever encountering a bug.

I guess I was lucky?

Did the green bread trail ever disappear for you? I think it was the only bug I encountered but it was hella annoying. Sometimes it would disappear for ages but other times it would come back after a minute or two. It so random and fucked! Also the load times are atrocious aswell as the menu system (one of the clunkiest i've used in years). If anything needed patching the most it was those 2 aspects imo.

The worst I ever got was the bread trail disapearing for a second or two on occasion.

I often found that I was unable to focus on characters to talk/give presents etc. The screen would jump a bit and refuse to lock on the character, so I'd have to exit out of the area and come back again. I suppose that's more annoying to me than the glowing trail disappearing for a bit... not that I had many problems with that.

disappearing breadcrumbs is the worst bug i've come across - i think all the other niggles i've had with the game have been purely bad design choices.

i haven't actually finished the game yet, and haven't played it since something else came out (probably Fallout 3). i enjoyed what i did play, even if it was a shallow, vapid experience, but i just can't find the motivation to load it up again - there are just other games i'd rather be playing.

so i'm kinda torn on the DLC - i'll probably get it eventually, but i don't know whether to get it asap, and hope it gets me in the mood to play it again, or just leave it until i get back to it on my own volition.

the latter is arguably the smarter option, since it might be arse, or might get a price drop in the intervening period of time, but i smarts might lose this battle of choice.

Wasn't the Master Chief armour only for Collectors Edition?

So wouldn't that be like a DLC for just the people that have the collectors edition?
What i'm saying is, give us this Masterchief mission and give us the masterchief armour and weapons aswell.

So say I (someone who already has the collector's edition) downloaded this new area/mission for 800 points i've basically got a new mission/area to play through. At the end of that mission masterchief puts his armour and weapons in a treasure chest and this basically explains that downloadable content that people got when the game originally coming out.

What this is doing is giving those people that missed out on the masterchief armour/weapons the first time around a chance to get it again aswell as giving them a new mission/area to explore.

People who got the masterchief weapons/armour the first time around will obviously only be getting the new mission/area, but atleast there will be that cohesiveness with the story and it would make for a good tale. I know personally when I pickup special equipment in some games I wish I could've gone back in time and actually played that area or whatever happened to get that equipment.

Also when the DLC came out orginally (the masterchief armour and weapons) it was basically free cuz of all the stuff ups with the collector's edition, so technically it was first come first served. I remember seeing the game at GAME, EB and Jb Hi-Fi the collector's edition and regular edition were the same price. So essentially no one is getting ripped off. Think of it as a timed exclusive.

Ya know if I wanted a master chief story I'd play Halo 3.

I'm not playing Fable to get a master chief story and area.

That said I traded this game in so I honestly don't give two shits about the downloadable content, but I'd much prefer to see more fable content not "LOL ITS MORE HALO GUYZ!"

Guess you didn't need to buy furniture from Bowerstone icon_razz.gif man that was an annoying bug

Also, I had to install the game because if I didn't, the game would just freeze sometimes, did anyone else had that problem?

After hearing about the bugs and stuff I installed the game the second I got it. So I guess I probably got around a few of the bugs that way.

Duuhhh! Exactly the type of retarded answer I expected from you. Why didn't you just say you werent' interested in Halo content instead of getting me to spell out what I was saying?! You saw it was Halo content I was originally hinting at and you should've just dismissed it there and then.

Obviously this thread isn't even for you so why you even commenting? I've still got the game and personally I would've preferred something that fits into the lore of the game and the world and if you had seen this collector's edition content you would know that Halo and Fable were actually linked in some way. So it's not just more Halo content, it would actually be there to enrich the Fable content. If anything it would give the shallow armour/sword downloadble content a bit more reason to exist.

Also it was just an idea. A direction the devs could've gone. Not saying it's this or nothing.

It's better than sitting around going "Naff! Next please!" Which is obviously where you talents lie. Carry on then troll. Probably a bit miffed I debunked your Clover = not Capcom rubbish so you try and dismiss my awesome idea. Whatever dude.

No I saw you saying the content should have been based on a collectors edition special (Wich I did get as I got the special edition so yeah not sure were the whole "If you'd played it" thing came from)

So, continuing the story by going to a new island doesn't fit into the lore or the world? Even though, you know, its written as lore for the world?

Haha, seriously I can't even remember what thread that was in I haven't read your response to that icon_razz.gif But hey if you wanna assume I'm making personal attacks against you specificly then uh, have fun with that.

i had a weird bug right at the start of the game where i somehow did both the good and evil deed at once, from that point on i couldnt do anything at all and had to reload my last save.

on topic, the idea of some more content is nice, but i find the price a bit high, i think ill wait till its been released and see just how big this island is before i decide

Apparently the patch that fixes a bunch of bugs is now live.
