Fable 2 DLC delayed

360 News | Now arriving sometime in January.
Lionhead's Xbox 360 action-RPG Fable 2 was scheduled to receive a big chunk of downloadable content over Xbox Live next week. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the content, titled Knothole Island, has been pushed back to January.

The news comes from an announcement on the Xbox.com calender, citing 'unexpected technical difficulties' as the reason behind the content's delay.

Fable 2 was released in October this year, and we thought pretty highly of it. A few patches have made the bugs a bit more bearable, too.

The Knothole Island content introduces a new - wait for it - island for players to explore, while they try and prevent its death at the hands of frostbite. Whenever it surfaces, it will come at the price of 800 MS points.

Does this mean the patch is delayed too?

^ As far as I know, they have never given a date for the big patch, they just say that it is coming soon. I think people have assumed it may come with the release of the DLC. If that is the case, it might explain why Knothole Island keeps getting delayed.

I have reached the end of my tether witht his game. I am stuck, 75% through the game with no way to continue. If Lionhead cant fix this I will sell my Xbox and burn my copy of Fable 2 and hope that satan kills peter molyneux for eternity.

PATCH. NOW. Its only fair. HATE.

Lionhead seem to be like the girlfriend/boyfriend you think you can change.
But they will never stop lying and ultimately disappointing you...

I would love to say "I hate Lionhead, i won't being buying the DLC and i'll never buy a game from them" because i know damn well i will!

Screw Lionhead. They killed Fable 2 for me.

At least they're consistant in breaking their promises.

Fable 2 winds the award for underachieiving game of the year hands down.

From the Lionhead blog:

Wow! What a week; I'm currently in Belgium spending the holidays with my family and friends. Turns out the DLC has been delayed! We were aiming for a mid-December release of Knothole Island, a fantastic piece of downloadable content which the team has been working on like mad. The video diary is ready and will be coming out in the New Year. Knothole Island adds a whole new series of quests, characters and items to the land of Albion and will give the player many hours in extra game-play. While we thought we’d be able to have all this ready very shortly, there are still some bit and bops we’re polishing and finalizing. Given that, look for Knothole Island to come out this January! We’ll have more information to share after the holidays, so stay tuned! Happy gaming everyone (this is also affecting the release of the patch).
Gah.

Lionhead: Please make your current game work as promised before asking us for more money in the form of an expansion. Whats with MS's standards? GAH.

I think if you threw Peter Mol*I don't speak no **** French* out of the studio it'd have half a chance of producing a decent title. Though it seems this guy wants the weid the sword of indecision and create a game which tries to the be the jack of all trades but fails miserably into a pit of fire.

I don't know wheather it's their project lead driving the whole team like lemmings over the side of a cliff or incompetant project leads hiring incompetant people but this really needs to stop.

To Peter Mol*I wouldn't give this guy the time of day to research his last name* simple, shut-up and let Microsoft handle the PR, if they can make Bill Gates a hero after Microsoft's Anti-trust case they can certainly handle your small town studio. Also I don't know whether you mother beat common sense out of you but the gameplay patch, comes before the DLC. Top priority, not after the DLC, not with the DLC but far before it. Why extend a game when you can't fix it's basic mechanics.
Finally for Fable 3, turn the pretty factor down, get rid of the money hungry families (leave in the orgies though) and make a game that lasts longer than a guy losing his virginity.
