Gears of War 2 map pack released

360 News | 3 maps for 800 MS points.
Epic's Christmas blockbuster, Gears of War 2, has received its first slice of downloadable content on Xbox Live.

Announced during the Spike TV Video Game Awards, the content comes in the form of the Combustible map pack, which adds three multiplayer maps to the popular shooter.

There is 'Gold Rush', which features multiple paths for combatants to explore, the 'Gas Station', with plenty of explodable objects and most interestingly, 'Flood', where players will have to be careful of the rising and falling tide of imulsion floating through the level.

The map pack should be good to download right now - but it comes in at an incredibly hefty 800 MS points for the time being. Ouch.

If the pack was released during the Gears 1 era, it'd be a no brainer for me to purchase. Due to the crappiness of the GOW2 online experience so far, it would literally have to be free for me to bother with the download. Bring back the match/ping browser, Epic...

Make sure that your team concentrates on pushing the cart in goldrush. Stage 1 cap 2 is bloody hard if you're blu, so be careful.

New content for games is always good but 800 points is outrageous and being released just one month after the game, this stinks of money grabbing! It's becoming a very nasty habit in the industry now. Content which most likely could have shipped with the disc gets held back a month or two to make some extra cash. Bluurrgh. Bad taste in my mouth!

a little too dear for my tastes. Might pick it up if it gets discounted later on.

I bought it, Because its gears of war. Havnt acutally played the new maps yet, but im sure they will add hours of fun later on. anyway I like new maps soon after the game is released... thats when I do the majority of my game playing anyway.... I had pretty much put a halt on call of duty 4 when that map pack came out... and halo 3 the same.

Remeber when you could download thousands of maps for a game and none of them would cost you a dime? Yeah, I miss those days (new gfx card for Christmas for the win!).

I'm sure I'll get it soonish (3000 MS points from mate for birthday prezzie helps!), but it is a bit too soon after release for new maps at that price...

Should have put the maps in with the game. Smells like they left them out on purpose.

I would have loved it if it was 400 points but 800? Sounds fishy to me.
