Skate 2 release date confirmed

360 News | It's going to be a great start to the year.
While it's been known that EA Games' Skate 2 was planned to be released sometime in 2009, until now a specific release date had gone unannounced. Well, today EA sent out a press release confirming the skating-sim will be available worldwide in January next year.

According to EA, our lucky North American comrades can purchase the game from the 21st of January, while everyone else must wait an extra two days for a January 23rd launch. Skate 2 is set in the fictional city of San Vanelona, which was rebuilt after an "unspeakable disaster" occurred five years ago. The game will boost all-new tricks and will allow players to get off-board and move objects around.

Accompanying the press release were three screenshots, all of which you can find in the media panel below. We'll have more on Skate 2 shortly.

Skate It is a Wii game, Skate 2 is the PS3/360 game. (There is no Skate It 2, yet)

Hopefully you don't go immediately into ragdoll from that slightest collision with the gutter.

I hope they have something so the character automatically tries to keep balance when they seperate from the board or something.

Great news! I've been putting off buying the original for a while now due to the sequel coming soon. Can't wait to play it, the first is the best sports game I've played.
