Dead Space demo coming to XBL and PSN

360 News | Better late than never.
With Dead Space being released a few weeks ago, EA Games seem to be getting excited by the potential Christmas sales that await the title. In case you're on the fence as to whether to ask Santa for Dead Space or something else, EA has made the announcement that a free demo will be up on Xbox Live and the PSN.

According to EA, the demo will be available worldwide later today on Xbox Live, while PAL gamers will have to wait until Thursday, November 27th, for the PS3 demo to be released. At this stage it's unclear if a demo will be released for the PC.

While you wait for the demo to arrive, why not take a look at our review?

That's... kind of handy. I would have thought everyone who wanted the game would have it by now but hey, power to them.

I want the game and will get the game, but I have no intent of spoiling any part of it for myself with the demo. How's about that one then? icon_smile.gif

Dead space is well worth purchasing, I am shocked it has taken how long it has taken for the demo to be released

would have apreciated it befor the game was released, might have saved me the drive to buy it.
I'm kinda curious what part of the game they might use for the demo.

Am I the only one who has noticed MOST demoes have been few and far between this year? Wheres the Tomb Raider? Need for Speed? Anything please?!?!

Or are they all going this route of releasing demoes post launch. I guess they figure, some people will buy it day 1 no matter what and the rest will get the demo and decide..

hmm i only just got a 360 so there are quite a few titles competing for my money so demo's are a really useful thing for me, that and borrowing from friends icon_biggrin.gif

Great news I've been waiting for the demo. I know it's got amazing reviews and all but I've got too many games on my wishlist and I'm trying to wittle it down somewhat so this should definitely aid me in my choice.

Honestly, if you've been holding off on this game, take the pludge. It's probably the sleeper hit of the year.

Yeah, I'm with LeonJ, this game is phenomenally good, playing the demo will merely solidify this fact in your mind. The game is worth buying, period.

I bought the game when it game out but have only played a few minutes. I wonder if the late demo is due to low sales.

Wheres the Tomb Raider?
Right there available for download... I got it ages ago!

The demo I REALLY want is LBP, I get bored of "make your own fun" games so need to try before I'm willing to buy... as for Dead Space, I'll buy it after the game-rush is over and my bank account isn't empty...!

I wouldn't say it was a sleeper hit.

I would because it really did come from left field and while it certainly wasn't underepresented prior to its release it was, at the time, still unproven. It was EA (immediate alarm bells for most people) and it was being pushed as a RE4 killer (which it is, in my opinion) so yeah, it was definitely this years surprise title. Feel free to disagree though.

I tried the demo today, lasted about 10 minutes and was thankful I didn't buy the game when it came out. Not really my thing.

Well put Sin, but I have to agree with Lapzod on this one, although what you said about it being a surprise title - judging by most accounts – is accurate; it's a surprise that's it's as good as it is or perhaps a surprise that it lived up to the hype and then some, but as for coming out of left field, a long while prior to it's release many of the most popluar gaming sites and shows were already publicizing how it revolutionizes the HUD and also how it introduces other forward-looking gameplay aspects. So sleeper hit? Maybe not, but surprise title, yeah why not?
