SSFII Turbo HD Remix dated

360 News | Next week.
The long awaited Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be released on Xbox Live next Wednesday, the 26th of November.

The news comes to use by way of a Capcom Blog, which features a screenshot of the game's page on the new Xbox 360 dashboard with the heading "Coming Nov 26th to Xbox Live Arcade". The blogger also notes that the game "feels like it could be just a few days away", if any further confirmation was needed.

SSFII Turbo HD Remix is a dramatic remake of the Capcom arcade game, first released way back in 1994. The most obvious change are the brand spankin' new shiny HD visuals and online play, but there are a whole host of minor gameplay tweaks in there somewhere too.

As of yet, no date for the game's release on the PlayStation Network has been mentioned.

No word on PSN release? Cmon Capcom, when you said out in November, you would have HAD to mean PS3 as well..

Its amazing how Microsoft has been able to get so many developers to release/develop on their console as the primary one, especially Japanese developers despite the xbox360 not selling as well over there..

If its only a week or two difference, I'll wait as I find the Dual Shock controller better for SF2 move sets. Just a personal preference..

Any word on price? That way I can ask someone to convert MS points into a dollar amount and use my Ninja skills to deduce whether I'll buy it when it comes out on PSN...

I'll be buying a PS3 in a week's time. This looks like one multiplat to get for that over the 360, simply due to the controller. I wonder if there's trophy support?

Damn it, I just bought MK vs DC.

Online is the key for me. Brawling with SF pros will be sweet.

SF2 brings back the good old days for me. I loved it both on the SNES and Arcade.

Wooo i will also be getting this on the ps3 because of the controller issue. Yes i know some people like the dpad on the xbox hehe i don't.

Currently there is no Trophy support in SSFIITHDR, but it may be added later on down the track.

360 purchase for me.

Capcom dont seem to be giving an idea of how big the download file is going to be? Especially since it's HD.

Play-asia did have a wired Hori pad which should have a better dpad. However all fight games will be crap due to a 4 way dpad.

Microsoft really need to fix the issue. There was talk of a new dpad control but that was japna only or something and developers had to program it in.

Apparently the new Red controllers have a re-done d-pad. But it's still tiny and looks really uncomfortable.

I didn't know Hori made pads I thought they just made arcade sticks, I'll have to look into it cheers.

If you check back quite a few pages you will see the HORI 360 pad BlackMamba is talking about, which I bought and did a mini review on in that thread. the D pad is godly, like the SNES one (in fact better and more responsive IMO). Not as good as the Saturn D pad, but nothing can beat that anyway.

Good luck trying to find the HORI pad though. With our exchange rate the pad is currently going for over $65 AUD, not including shipping. Renchi currently have it for preorder.

Another option for controllers is to wait for the release of the Madcatz Street Fighter IV peripherals. I was VERY skeptical of the quality of these products when they were announced on the SRK forums, but they have been getting REALLY good feedback from testers and industry peeps. I think Madcatz really wants to lose the bad reputation they have for their substandard quality peripherals and are really going all out on these SFIV products. Cross fingers they come through with the goods.

From memory there will be 3 types of SFIV products available:
* Themed control pads
* Standard Edition joystick (using imitation arcade parts - like HORI use in their EX fighting sticks)
* Tournament Edition joystick (using authentic Sanwa parts)

About the download size. Last I heard on SRK, I think the download is around 350MB or so.

I do not think it would be worth while investing money in the new MS pads that have the extra directions in the Dpad if you want them for improved fighting game controls. Such improvements will never be implimented into a game like SFII or SFIV, as these types of games work on a 4 direction input system (diagonals are just a combination of 2 of the adjacent directions). It is better to invest in a controller that's D pad is physically designed better and gives better feedback (like the 360 HORI pad for example). The D pads on the MS 360 and Sony PS pads are both awful for 2D fighting games (these are my opinions though, and some may find them awesome - to each their own).

I loved the PS2 controller for fighting games, but then thats what I started on.

I can't play guilty gear on anything else.

The hori pads, even at 65 bucks are cheaper then a new 360 pad so thats fine icon_razz.gif

The red controllers still have the usual directional commands as the white and black ones (ie. it's not like the limited edition green one where it has like what 32 directions?).

The only difference is that the actual D pad is made from a different plastic compared to the black and white original XB360 controller, so it does feel a little different. I do find the D pad on the red controller to be a little looser compared to the other models but that's about it really.

I don't really like the XB360 controller for fighting games (even thought I bought the SCIV joystick for the XB360 when I was in Japan), I think I'll get the PS3 version.

Cheers for the info on size. 350MB isn't anywhere near what I was expecting. That is half of many demos on Live and PSN these days. Great relief.

Was expecting it be in the Gigs since its HD.

Now for the price. Without sounding picky you would think Capcom would announce this sort of stuff for a product that's only a week away.

Anyway, great the game will be out soon.

As long as the price isn’t insane, I’ll be jumping on board the second it hits.

Still got my DOA stick, which made it through VF5 in good shape, so definite 360 purchase for me.

As for the Madcatz stuff, well, let’s just say I couldn’t believe my eyes after reading Capcom’s announcement. Seriously – Worst. Company. Ever. Unless reviews are too bright to read, I’ll be sticking with my DOA.

I actually heard (at least I think I did...) that this broke the 350MB barrier and that M$ were giving it “special” treatment. Anyway, I can’t see it being too much bigger, if at all. And I think *removing all accountability* I remember Capcom putting out a survey of sorts, asking what people were willing to pay for it. But yeah, don’t know much else.

Either way, not long now.

I remember I had a madcatz gamecube controller, it constantly pulled to the left. Played smashbros on it and watched my charecter repeatedly run off the left of the stage and die.

Last time I bought a third party controller -_-

I'll be downloading the PS3 version. I'd like to see if there any drastic changes in character tier from the original super turbo.

I have a Hori Fighting Stick EX2, modded with Happ buttons and a Sanwa octagonal restrictor. Next wednesday will be heaven for me.

(It'd be better if Microsoft would let x-arcade release a 360 adapter though! douchey can'ts)

Some of you may find this interesting if you're intending to get the PS3 version.

capcom-unity.com">First things first... let's make it official: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix drops for PlayStation Network on November 25, 2008, and on Xbox LIVE Arcade on November 26, 2008. Get hype!

You heard about the Street Fighter table for Pinball FX, but that was just the beginning. We've also got a Street Fighter UNO DLC pack, featuring cards with signature Street Fighter specials, as well as your favorite SF backgrounds and themed music. And last but not least, Capcom will also have another “Little” Street Fighter surprise coming to the PSN soon.

And just in case you thought you knew what to expect from Street Fighter, think again. In addition to all the Street Fighter DLC, I'm also excited to announce a direct-to-download album of Street Fighter-inspired hip-hop! The Street Fighter Underground Remix album will feature the musical flavor of artists such as DJ Qbert, Hieroglyphics, Redman, Oh No, DJ Toure, Mistah F.A.B. and Zion I. Each of the cuts will be available exclusively on PlayStation Network, FOR FREE, when SF HD Remix launches!

HD Remix will be coming to Xbox Live Marketplace on 11/26 for 1200 MS points.

It will arrive on 11/25 on PlayStation Network for $14.99. You will see standard international price adjustments for overseas PSN stores when it eventually arrives.
Also speculation of the "little" Holiday season Street Fighter surprise for PSN, some saying it could be PS1 Pocket Fighter: Minimix

Damm, anychance of em being on x-box or will I have to get a mate to download em for me.

Nope, 1200 Points is to steep for what is just a shinny new coat on a game that is over 10 years old.
