New Dead Space content this week

360 News | New skins, more firepower, new skins, more firepower...
EA has announced that it plans to release some new content online for its take on survival horror, Dead Space, on Thursday.

Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions have two unique bundles to themselves, but the majority of the content is shared. Most of the bundles revolve around new skins and increased firepower for the weapons, but there are a few other small bits and pieces in there.

The content exclusive to the Xbox 360 is as follows:

  • Elite Pack (240 MS points) - Line Gun, Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle and 360 themed level 5 suit
  • Elite Weapon Skin Pack (120 MS points) - Xbox 360 skins for Line Gun, Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle
Those of you with a PS3 may be more interested in these:
  • Obsidian Pack (USD $3) - Line Gun, Plasma Cutter, Pulse rifle and PS3 themed level 5 suit
  • Obsidian Weapon Skin Pack (USD $1.50) - PS3 skins for Line Gun, Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle
Everyone can enjoy the following packs:
  • Tank Pack (320 MS points / USD $4) - level 5 suit plus a juiced up Flamethrower, Force Gun, and Line Gun, all of them featuring Unitology script
  • Astronaut Pack (240 MS points / USD $3) - comes with an Astronaut suit and new skins for the Plasma Cutter, Ripper and Pulse Rifle
  • Big Gun Pack (80 MS points / USD $1) - Steam Punk Force Gun
  • Heavy Damage Pack (240 MS points / USD $3) - increased firepower and new skins for the Plasma Cutter, Contact Beam, Pulse Rifle and Ripper
  • Hot Rod Pack (80 MS Points / USD $1) - fire skins for the Flamethrower and Pulse Rifle
  • Military Pack (320 MS Points / USD $4) - new skins and increased damage for all weapons in the game
  • Scorpion Pack (320 MS Points / USD $4) - enhanced level 5 suit and higher power/newly skinned Plasma Cutter, Line Gun and Force Gun
  • Scorpion Weapon Pack (180 MS Points / USD $2.25) - the Plasma Cutter, Line Gun and Force Gun become faster and come with new skins
  • Speed Kills Pack (180 MS Points / USD $2.25) - the Force Gun, Line Gun and Plasma Cutter all fire faster

To bad I'm trading this game in after I get the Plasma only trophy.

Screw content, I demand a patch for the PC version!! The input lag and other control issues cripple it on PC icon_sad.gif

So essentially there are only skins? I'm interested in the new RIGs, but the weapon skins... not so much.

God EA sucks and DLC sucks. What an awesome way to taint an otherwise excellent game.

Not too long ago this sort of **** would have been included as unlockable content.

Skins, sure, go for your life EA.

BUT BETTER WEAPONS THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR?
THATS ****.

I can think of one game where that is appropriate. Kwari.
You buy all your guns, but get money back for killing enemies.

I wonder how long it will be until EA start selling Discs(full retail of course) that have a Start menu but no game until we purchase DLC piece by piece to reveal the game, that should help fill the coffers

^ Gold.

I doubt I'll buy any of these, I'm quite happy with the difficulty of the game. I may get some of them solely for new suit skins but otherwise I won't bother.

For those *****ing, you could always, I dunno, not buy them. That'd alleviate some of that latent aggressiveness.
