Need for Speed Undercover online modes revealed

360 News | Cop or robber?
Black Box, a studio of EA Games, has revealed the online multiplayer modes for their upcoming racer Need for Speed: Undercover. Aside from the usual Sprint and Circuit modes, there will also be a brand new Cops and Robbers mode, which extends on the police chase sequences from the single-player experience.

In Cops and Robbers, players are divided into two teams consisting of up to four players. One team takes on the role of the robbers who must pick up a package and take it to a drop-off point. The other team assumes the role of the cops, who must prevent the robbers from making the delivery. Each game will last two rounds, with players switching between roles consecutively. Unfortunately, online play will only be featured in the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of Undercover.

“High-intensity police chases are a signature component of Undercover and this extends to the multiplayer experience as well,” said Bill Harrison, Executive Producer at Black Box. “The cops and robbers mode will thrust players into adrenaline-pumping battles as they utilize the Heroic Driving Engine to deliver or prevent the delivery of the package to the safe house.”

Need for Speed: Undercover is scheduled to be released this November. We have included some new screenshots of the game in the media panel.
