Fable 2 CE loses goodies

360 News | Box, figure and cards gone.
The collector's edition of the upcoming Xbox 360 RPG, Fable 2, will be a bit smaller than first promised.

Gone are the five printed cards, the Hobbe figurine and the fancy-smancy box. That doesn't leave a whole lot, really.

According to a developer blog post, the change is all down to 'supply chain issues'. As you would expect, US retailers have reduced the price of the pack by USD 10, with local retailers sure to follow soon.

So, what will buyers of the collector's edition actually get? A bonus DVD, including a making of feature, and some bonus in-game content, including a few extra weapons and a bonus dungeon.

As a nice gesture, Lionhead has indicated that the art for the cards will be available to download as a PDF file, while there will be a free album of Fable 2 music available next week.

Fable 2 will be hit store shelves on the 23rd of October.

Just saw this http://kotaku.com/5058774/fable-ii-ce-cut-even-further which seems to suggest that even the DEVELOPER DIARIES and SOUNDTRACK will be cut as well

WTF

This just leaves

Bonus DVD with new 'Making-of' Feature.
Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVER) including:
. The Hall of the Dead Dungeon
. The Wreckager Legendary Cutlass Weapon
. Spartan armor and energy sword

Well EB haven't exhausted their Collectors Edition allocations as I was able to pre-order it at EB today, though that may have also been because some people found our about the circumcision icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif of Fable 2 CE and cancelled their pre-orders.

Well the collectors edition is certainly no longer appealing as it was originally but considering its going to be the same price as the regular edition I'm not exactly going to be complaining. The extra download content sounds pretty awesome especially because of the Halo equipment.

Well if you price match JB that'll be another $41 in your pocket as JB will have the CE for $79 icon_biggrin.gif
