War World to XBLA this Wednesday

360 News | Mechs. Fighting each other. Explosions.
There will be some new blood hitting the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday in the form of a third-person mech shooter, titled War World.

The action takes place on the planet War World (hence the title, we'd imagine), where various assault mechs are battling it out forever whatever reason. In total, there are sixteen different mechs to choose from, each having somewhat different coloured armour and its own unique abilities, such as lasers, shields, mini-guns, missiles and invisibility.

Players wanting to go it alone will have the Arcade mode to keep them company. There are 100 levels to beat, with various degrees of difficulty. There's also a death match option, but we would imagine it would be far more compelling online against human opponents. Aside from death match there are a few other game types, including capture the flag and bomb assault

War World will come at the cost of 800 MS points. If you just cannot wait until tomorrow, have a look at the game's official page here.

Way to fail to mention that the game was developed locally.. or it's history as a PC Game.

Go Australian Development!!

Do you guys do 'any' research at all or just post the information you gleam from the big American websites?

Anyway, I downloaded this trial and it has to be just about the STINGIEST EVER.

You get about 42 seconds of gameplay, and if you die during that time you'll be forced to watch the time tick down another 10+ seconds as you wait to re-spawn.

Seriously, it's barely enough time to come to grips with the controls, let alone see if the gameplay is any good.

I don't care who developed it, such stinginess is a serious mis-step and I'll be surprised if they sell very many copies. I feel ripped off and I didn't even pay for it!
