Lionhead planning more Fable sequels

360 News | Three more titles reportedly in the works.
With Fable 2 getting its final spit and polish for its upcoming release, Lionhead Studios' Lead Designer Peter Molyneux has revealed that the company intends to produce another three more titles for the action-RPG series.

"We've got plans for Fable 3, 4, and 5," Molyneux explained. "It's a big story arc, and you can see — if you play Fable 2, you can recognize things from Fable 1, so that's pretty exciting."

Fable 2 is expected to hit retail outlets this October.

Classic Molyneux. I hope Fable 2 proves me wrong, but the man just LOVES overpromising. He'd make an awesome politician, because he can actually convince so many people he'll deliver.

Ya know he mightn't always deliver on everything he promises, but I've gotta respect the guy for always aiming big.

Yes, I reckon....get the 2nd one first, before rushing into the 3 other Fable games. I think they the series will be overdone with 3 more games.
As much as I enjoy Fable, I think 3 more games is overdoing it.

/wont buy

I was looking forward to this but I never like buying a full priced game knowing that I'll need to buy more full priced games just to finish the 1 story. It's lazy and inexcusable.

^Well, it really depends on the product.

If they had squished all three LotR movies into one, it would have been epic fail. When it makes sense to divvy content up, the developer should do so.

Plus there may be some things they want to do in 3/4/5 which aren't possible with current tech.

People on the inernets making something out of nothing? Unheard of! Watch the full interview and tell me it’s more than just shooting the breeze.

Sounds to me like he was just reiterating that the series is healthy and was simply talking about future direction, albeit in his own sure-to-cause-a-stir kinda way.

Fable 2 is its own game – a full game, just like Molyneux said - it has no significant connection with the first, and I’m sure that whatever they have planned for years down the track will be the same deal.

my thoughts exactly

Surely, he simply means that after the success of the first and the obvious anticipation for the second then there is certainly room for thinking that 3,4,5 would be in the pipes. I think that perhaps not 3,4,5 though, i think that they will try to produce off shoots, if you catch my drift. Didn't really explain that well. meh.
