SoulCalibur IV bargain round-up

360 News | The soul begs for a bargain.
SoulCalibur IV will finally be hitting store shelves tomorrow, and to celebrate we’ve compiled a list of the current specials available around Australia. The Xbox 360 version normally retails for $99.95 and lets players join the Light with Jedi Master Yoda. For the retail price of $109.95 however, you might be tempted by the Dark Side and ally yourself with Darth Vader on the PlayStation 3.

While there aren’t too many specials for the game’s launch, JB Hi-Fi and Kmart are offering the Xbox 360 version for only $79, as well as the PlayStation 3 version for $89. If your cash flow is a little thin, then you may be interested in JB Hi-Fi’s trade-in deal, where you can trade-in three Xbox 360 games and get SoulCalibur IV for FREE. Unfortunately, there are no deals for the PS3 version, and as usual you’ll need to check their exclusions list (.pdf file) before charging into your local store. As an alternative however, EB Games are offering an extra 20% trade-in credit towards purchase of SoulCalibur IV.

why is it $10 more for the ps3 everywhere? is there any reason for that? Is it Darth Vaders fault?

360 has been out longer, and has a larger install base - when it first came out, the games were nearly all $110-$120. Give it time and the PS3 games will probably drop to the same price as the 360 ones. Or maybe Sony is charging extra for games with a rumble feature. icon_wink.gif

I went to the gametraders in Carousel Shopping Centre(WA) today and they had a sale that said all PS3 and XBOX360 games for $69, sale ending July 31. So that'll be my first stop tomorrow to see if I can get PS3 Soul Calibur IV for that price... If not then JB or Kmart here I come.

The game was out today at my local toysrus for 99 bucks. Didn't bother because it was the normal edition (I want the collector's). Here hoping JB will offer a trade in deal for the PS3 version.

Well, the DSE savings look like being the best this time round!

I’ll be picking up my pre-order from JB later today. Too bad I can’t play it until my 360 comes back from repairs…

Have included Wow Sight and Sound to the list, they're offering the 360 version for $79.95.

These days I just get everything from JB Hifi, there's a bunch of them near my place and they're always within $10 of the best deal anyway. I hear you can dodge up the trade-ins if you can find the right stuff. Ecogamer.com usually has the goods on that.

JB Hi-Fi is only offering the trade in deal for the Xbox 360 version at this time. If a memo comes through in the future to offer a trade in deal on the PS3 version of SoulCalibur IV, I'll be sure to edit this post.
