E3 2008: Scene It sequel annouced

360 News | Online play and Avatars.
Microsoft today announced a sequel to their foray into the casual competitive game market from last year, Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action. Titled Scene It? Box Office Smash, it promises more movie trivia and wacky host hijinks, designed to take advantage of the Microsoft Big Button Pad.

The first release was largely unsurprising, with most gamers expecting another attempt from Microsoft to attract the Buzz crowd to the Xbox 360. However, what was a little bit more surprising was the reveal that not only will Scene It? Box Office Smash offer online play over Xbox Live (a clear nod towards the Sofa vs. Sofa mode offered by Buzz! Quiz TV on the PlayStation 3), it'll allow a staggering 16 players to compete against each other online.

If that weren't enough, Microsoft also announced that it'll be the first title to take advantage of the recently announced Microsoft Avatars, allowing gamers to show their inner beauty to others online.

In what should also brighten the day of Australian gamers a little bit, Scene It? Box Office Smash is being co-developed by Krome studios out of Brisbane, creators of Ty the Tasmania Tiger, Viva Piñata: Party Animals, and Barbie Beach Vacation.
