E3 2008: 360 to get exclusive Portal outing

360 News | Portal is Still Alive.
One of the most intriging tidbits of Microsoft's E3 press conference was the announcement of Portal: Still Alive.

Portal AI GLADoS broke the news at the conference, noting that Still Alive will be exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade. At least, so we think - the announcement was rather vague as to whether or not the game would grace the PC as well as the 360.

Still Alive will include the entire first Portal game, as well as a new challenge mode. Information on how significant this challenge mode will be along with any other changes to the game remains to be seen.

The game will be out sometime this year. You can read a full recap of Microsoft's press conference here.

I'd prefer them to say 'Ep III will be available of marketplace'.

This doesn't make all that much sense for Valve to make this a 360 exclusive. The game will be Steam-based, which is basically an engine designed for PCs, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a PC version. Perhaps they mean the sequel won't be going to other consoles?

Throw enough money at something and it'll become an Exclusive.

But, I hope it comes out on steam at least, hopefully.

With piracy as rampant as it is, maybe Valve figure they'll make more money with people paying in M$ points than through BT...

This isn't a Portal sequel, this is Still Alive, the 2d Sidecrolling platformer, it's free on PC and DS homebrew icon_confused.gif

Valve is one of the few developers who claim that piracy isn't a problem due to their Steam service. And that's largely true.

IRT 2D sidescroller:
Oh! Well that's not too bad then =]

I very much doubt this will be Xbox 360 exclusive when taking PC into consideration. They NEVER count the PC and Valve would never release something like this ONLY for a console. They might love Microsoft like a loyal dog however they are PC evangelists on every level. This WILL be on the PC at the same time (if not before) and as good or better.

Pff I loved portal but would rather have had news on hl ep3... or a whole new portal game instead of a revamp.
