E3 2008: Galaga Legions and Geometry Wars 2 for XBLA

360 News | Next month.
Microsoft has announced during its E3 press conference that Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved and Galaga Legions will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade next month.

A direct sequel of what is one of the most popular games on Xbox Live, Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved will look to expand on the first game, as well as Galaxies, mixing and matching elements of both games. As you would expect, the graphics will be even more spectacular. Interestingly, there looks like there could even be five player co-op in the game.

Galaga Legions will apparently be the the first ever proper sequel to the now-ancient arcade game Galaga. Developmental duties are being handled by Namco-Bandai, who were responsible for Pac-Man Championship Edition. The game will feature 'table-turning game dynamics', which, if nothing else, sounds exciting.

Both games are due out in August.
