good discussion smurf80. But you dont have to give people negatives for stating an opposing view.

When I said MGS4 is next, I am surprised I got negatives considering the that Sony have been losing exclusives left , right and centre.

No hard feelings though.

nothing wrong with stating an opposing point of view, but saying that people are stupid and uneducated is just not really on. thats why you incurred a couple of negs...sorry just clarification.

i respect what your saying African Aussie but you probably could've left that bit out.

Anyway this is going to be interesting the effect it will have on sony in the long run..lets try and keep the fanboyism to a minimum people icon_lol.gif

I was waiting to hear more news on FF 13 to see if it would be worth buying a PS3 over. Cause from what I had seen I was pretty damm tempted.

Now, there is pretty much nothing I want on the PS3 except for Little Big Planet.

I'm really interested to see how this will effect Microsoft's standing within the Japanese market.

If I were to assume anything at this stage, I don't think it'll result in too many Japanese gamers migrating over to the 360. So long as the game is available on a Sony platform, that's where they'll stay. Brand loyalty etc...

Microsoft need something exclusive to convince the Japanese audience that the 360 is the way to go. DLC seems like the most obvious course of action.

The thing is that as Sony lose more exclusives more people overseas are going to buy a 360 (I'm making the assumption that people are tightarses and want to spend the least amount of money possible) and the PS3 may lose ground in other regions. IF it keeps losing ground in other regions more people are going to start releasing more games exclusive to 360 and Wii. IF this happens then the Japanese will buy more 360's.

Damn that was a long winded way of saying that if the 360 gets exclusives it will sell in Japan.

They didn't say that it's exclusive to PS3 in Japan. Just that the 360 version won't be out at launch.

Man..I am so happy about this news that FF13 is coming to the 360 as that was one of the games i was going to buy a ps3 especially for, having loved and played all the final fantasy games previously besides the gba ports/tactics series etc.
I'm sure some game will come out that will sway me to go out and buy a ps3 still, whether it be God of war 3 or White knight story or whatever it is called now but at the moment there is nothing that interests me at this stage on that platform, even though i have played a fair bit of MGS4 at a mates place and think it is an awesome game it's not really going to make me go out and buy a ps3 for that game atm, I'd rather wait until the price drops a bit which at the moment is still quite pricey. So for this game to get released on 360 makes it a bit sweeter for me due to my previous comments.

I have read some thoroughly well thought out comments also on here, and some blatant fanboyism remarks as if someone has slagged their mum or something.Isn't it time all this fanboyism nonsense came to an end?
I mean comments like 'sony is finished' etc or quasi debate on why x is better than y because of z is honestly quite immature.People should be happy that it is going to other platforms because that means that...
A)More people get to play something that is a great game and..
B)That there is going to be more $$ in it for the developer to keep going strong and in this day and age it is really needed with games production getting more and more expensive with each emerging gen of consoles/hardware.

I say lets all get on the gaming bandwagon and enjoy what these consoles are for...gaming.

Whoa, that's confirmed?

I guess Microsoft saw it my way too icon_lol.gif Smart move I suppose. They must have saved a bit of cash thanks to that.

True and true, but I've never been a fan of multiplatform development. I'd much prefer it if the game were an exclusive, not because I think this series belongs on that platform or anything as petty as that, but rather because of the extra care and effort that is put into the development of an exclusive title.

Nobody can honestly say that a game developed as multiplatform is given the same level of care. Having to concentrate your effort on two separate builds rather than one surely has an effect on the end result.

That's not to say that the game will suffer terribly because of it. I'm just saying that I won't be expecting the same level of quality from a game developed solely as an exclusive title. For this to happen to a game coming from a series as legendary and revered as that of Final Fantasy is kind of depressing.

I am however willing to concede to the fact that this is most likely the new reality for the game development. Third party exclusives are sure to become a thing of the past. That doesn't mean I've got to be pleased with it.

I totally agree on the first party games staying with their counterparts as it is those games which differ the consoles plus give the industry that extra bit of profit due to having to buy that extra console so you can play that game as well as have that extra bit of tender loving care added.

Don't be too depressed, Square sold out a long time ago when they left nintendo, they are a business after all...shame alot of people seem to think the final fantasy series started on the sony console and should stick to it until its death for some reason.*not you of course Cap icon_razz.gif *

This is incredible! Great news for those who only have a 360.
You can guarantee there will NEVER be any Gears of War games on PS3.

icon_lol.gif Oh snap, you're right. I guess this makes the jump a natural evolution.

It's still not quite the same thing though. Square must have jumped ship the first time because Nintendo's hardware direction didn't fit with Square's vision for FFVII. The series' defection to Microsoft territory seems like a much more calculated, business orientated decision rather than a conflict of artistic interests.

smurf80, please stop embarrasing yourself through your fanboyism.

I have a PS3 and 360. So exclusivity of games doesnt affect me. But there are a lot of people who own a 360 but not a PS3 and it would be good for them if they had the chance to enjoy a great game like MGS4.

MGS4 is such a great game, most 360 owners wouldnt care less if it came in 4 discs.

I mean, does a game become more enjoyable if its not on another console?

I would like to see more big games like FF13 go multi-platform. So more people can play them as well. Its good 360 is getting FF13. PS3 is also getting former 360 exlcusives like Bioshock.

So in the end, we gamers benefit.
I have a 360 as well which I bought the other week in the toy sale so how do I qualify as a fanboy? Im only responding to your ill informed posts. A true rebuttle is responding to something that has been posted not attacking some's intelligence. Something I guess you need to learn....

Ya, bigtime. Imagine the amount of cash that is needed to produce those cutscenes and general game development , man they must be off the chart.
That's what gives me a bit of fear of gamings future as the game experience goes into high def and beyond with each iteration needing more and more people to develop these high end games with not too much of an increase in profit it's quite a deadly business to be in.Sure you get the big games like GTA4 etc that rake in the cash but for other devs they have to spread it around and try to milk all they can, and that's not a bad thing but i guess it does come at a cost whether it be specific console refinement etc.

After seeing those CG parts in MGS4 my head was totally blown away and the first thought was omfg how much did that cost because that is some absolutely crazy and stunning stuff right there.

I dont see that as attacking his intellegence, in no way did I say he was stupid? i was trying to put a point across that there are other ways of responding to what someone has said than attacking their intellegence.

Saying that is in no way saying he is "stupid" or "unintelligent". It wasnt an insult whatsoever. Intelligence is not something you learn its something you have.....

Anyways this has gone off topic so I bow out I have no personal problem with African Aussie we were both stating our points as a forum does and unfortunately it may of gotten "heated"

I think microsoft does an awesome job of keeping their own exclusive and poaching all the big ones off sony but all sony has really done is confirmed bioshock, while losing its big hitter ff13... it could also be seen in last generation when microsoft poached GTA, another massive hit.

This news for me is awesome because i loved ff10 but there was no way i was going to buy a ps3 just for this icon_biggrin.gif
