Why are they leaving out Japan? That's what Microsoft needs most.

Hahaha omg so much for exclusives are important to Sony.

why are people surprised?? as if you couldnt see it coming...
in an age where it costs so much to develop games of course they are going multiplatform...

why would square develop games for nintendo and sony but not for M$?? it doesnt make financial sense really...

i wonder if it will be on like 4 discs on the 360?

roflmao hahahah i can't beleive this hahahahah. Poor sony they really should of paid square enix to keep this sucker. ahh well.

its looks to me as if it may only be on the 360 in europe and america (here i guess) but not japan. so the only console it will be on in japan will be the ps3???? (just watched the video and that's what i picked up)

but yeah they definately should have paid some $$$$ for some exclusive titles from developers instead of relying on the power that was the ps2 to carry them over into the ps3 era....

hey sony hot tip your console is to expensive!! icon_smile.gif

Wow. I never saw this. Bar MGS4 and blu-ray, the PS3 really is looking less and less attractive to me as a gaming machine. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear games as far as I'm concern is what makes a Sony console.

I can't believe M$ managed to get FFXIII, incredible.

If the Sony boys were upset about DMC4, I can't wait to see the fall out from this. I expect to see Sony nerds rioting in the streets.

FF13 on 360 - wonder which will be the port - considering the 360 was launched 1 year prior to the ps3 - makes me think that square enix started work on the 360 first and this was a big MS secret for the last 3 years or so - Sony must be really PISSED OFF...
by the way - when is the release date - does anybody know which quarter in 2009?

As annoying as it is as a PS3 owner... Meh, it's not like the world is ending.
At least Sqare/Enix isn't as retarded as other RPG makers and making 360 exclusive RPG's that will never sell in Japan because of the low install base.
Square simply made a business decision that makes sense for themselves.
Although it will be interesting to see how far the XBOX version is coming along, as theoretically it would take less time to localize the game that it would to port from PS3 to 360, so I'd think PS3 would owners would see it outside of Japan first.

Holy <expletive deleted> Batman! I expected something like this from ol' Ninty, but not from Microsoft...

If this is just the beginning of E3 '08, i can't wait to see what everyone brings to the table.

Why do people write all this garbage about "ps3 is nothing now" Its stupid. It probably is upsetting to Sony to loose an exclusive but then again Microsoft has lost exclusive rights to Bioshock and I think the sequels for Mass Effect as well but you dont see people carrying on about that.

I agree with the developers that its is a great Franchise and should be enjoyed by all. Id say if the Wii was technically better it probably would of appeared on it too since Final Fantasy has been on Nintendo's roster for years.

Now that I have all three consoles, none of these exclusivity announcements affect me much.

That said,

DYAAAAAAAAAAMN SONY!

1 less reason to get a PS3. While I'm not a great fan of the FF series, it certainly does interest me now that it's on 360. I would imagine the majority of players who have both consoles will get it on 360, because of achievements and possible online functionality.

@ Smurf80 - This is a bit different. Sony would need to annouce Gears 2 is coming in November on the PS3 to counter this. Bioshock/Mass Effect are already on the PC and were always going to be 'timed' exclusives. Bioware is part of EA now, of course it's going to be be on every console available.

Final Fantasy is what put the Playstation on the map. VII made the PS1 a household name. Having it launch worldwide on the 360 at the same time as the PS3 is massive deal. Think about the pontential hardware sales alone that Sony might lose due to the this?

Well, going beyond the fact that this is a 360/PS3 release now...

The new trailer is brilliant! It shows a lot of stuff we've already seen, but there's a lot more stuff we haven't. The game has a sort of FFX meets an even more hyper-futuristic-reality with characters reminiscent of FFVIII. I'm going to go watch it again icon_biggrin.gif.

just like the next final fantasy released on ps3, what has happened is that Square the original makers and Enix have had a argument and split up so Square is releasing final fantasy 13 on ps3 and Enix is releasing final fantasy verses 13 on Xbox 360. this i have been told by a few japanese friends. anybody heard any different then let us know about it.
LeonJ comment understood. But from what I have read after hearing this is it will be released on ps3 then square will concentrate on getting the 360 version out at a latter date so maybe it will be a timed exclusive then?

either way as Mof said I have all 3 so it really doesnt effect me except the reason to have a ps3 is slowly declining. Killzone 2 and LBP better be something special or eBay here I come!

looks like my ps3 will be getting only exclusive titles unless the reviews state the ps3 version of games are superior but due to the track record it seems they wont be...

I just woke up and i feel as sick as a dog but this piece of news made me feel so much better. How MS managed to pull this off is beyond me. I could care less if its on multiple disks, it will just remind me of the epicness that was FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX and the awesome feeling i had knowing i've moved onto the next disc. Megaton confirmed! I wonder how Ads is going to take it?
