New Ninja Gaiden 2 content on Live soon

360 News | Mission mode.
Fans of blood will be ecstatic to hear that there will be some new downloadable content for Xbox 360 hack-and-slasher Ninja Gaiden 2 later this month.

The content will bring Mission mode to the game, which comes complete with 25 mini-challenge levels. These levels will be high score driven with various objectives, such as staying alive for as long as possible. As you will expect, a high score leader board will show who is the bestest.

It's due for release on July 25th, and will set punters back a hefty 800 MS points.

In addition, videos showing the locations of all 30 of the skulls in the game will be available for download tomorrow.

We reviewed Ninja Gaiden 2 last month, and thought it was bloody ace.

mission mode sounds like the hidden missions in DMC4 - is Team Ninja loosing their creativity without Itagaki and his team???

We get the video locations of each skull?! No, let me get this right – each location revealed in HD quality?! Wow!! This is exactly what fans have been waiting for – I’m so glad they’re actually listening!

Mission Mode for 800pts is a joke. First off, they can concentrate on fixing their game. Second, they need to admit that this was withheld from the final product in order to milk fans for all they’re worth. And finally, they can stop being wankers.

I’m not jumping the gun here, as this is all blatantly obvious. A month after release, 3 costume packs and 25 missions hit the marketplace, totaling 1400 points ($25). Now if I’m not mistaken, such content would have taken quite a while to produce, let alone prep and hit LIVE. Oh, there’s also the fact that the official Prima guide states that beating the game will unlock Mission Mode, but I like playing the fool.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is the definition of a rushed game, yet Tecmo seem to feel that fixing it is too much trouble, so instead focus on releasing content that was withheld from the final version to milk us for more money. Absolutely appalling.

Yeah this should definitely be free as its exclusion from the retail build was an obvious mis-step. I mean the game has a rather poor save system which makes it quite easy to auto-save yourself into a corner with no way out except to start the game again.

I personally gave up on the final boss after the game autosaved me there with no health items / yellow orbs. Also a good mate of mine met a similar fate during chapter 11 and ended up starting again from scratch (this time with full knowledge of the "almost hidden" manual save method).

Disappointing.

Bloody Tears I agree with you. If anything mission mode should have been standard and released with NG2 as it was with Sigma. I’d craving for mission mode but for 800 ms points, I think I’ll pass. Poor form Tecmo.

Cobla you are spot on about the auto save system's flaws. Thats why its safe to put it on manual save.

I think Tecmo will most definitely re-release Ninja Gaiden 2 with all the goodies just like they did with Black.
