Gears of War 2 screenshots

I saw some screens of it this morning on Kotaku and I have to say i'm officially hyped! I know screens and stuff have been going around for a while now but the screens I saw of the single-player campaign and the polished graphics (despite the abundance of brown) look amazing!

I still think Gears of War is the best looking game i've ever played (just pipping Bioshock and not including Crysis) and i'm a graphics harlot so i'm really looking foward to it. I really hope they make the game about twice the length of the original, I don't mind doing the same thing over and over again I just want awesome new environments to do it all in.

The game was overly shiney and grey/brown but the actual level of detail on the architecture and the bump/normal mapping along with the actual texture quality is unmatched by any game imo.

I do agree art style & environments could've used someone maybe with a bit more creativity/orignality, still atleast the tech makes up for it for me.

Some were amazing but I just thought it could've done with a bit more character like in Bioshock (which I understand was created mostly from ads etc which would be harder/cheesier to do with Gears but still something was missing), like the service station and greehouse/apple orchard stage with the Berserker....that was heaps awesome along with the last stage, but yea others looked like it was just ripped out of some multiplayer game....namely unreal and just didn't have enough to differentiate it from those sorta games.
