The Arcade console, which will come bundled with a 256MB memory unit and five Live Arcade games, will see a reduction of $50 and come in at $349, making it the cheapest current generation console on the market. The Pro edition will set punters back $499 (a saving of $80), and come with the usual 20GB hard drive and headset. The Elite package will also have the price lowered by $80 to come in at $649, and come with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI cable and a headset.
Of course, these are merely recommended retail prices - retailer prices will obviously differ.
Similarly, New Zealand will also receive price cuts, with the Arcade console costing $399, the Pro bundle $549, and the Elite $699.
The article also states that the Xbox 360 has currently sold roughly 410,000 units in Australia, compared to the Wii's 456,000 and the PS3's 285,000.
