Three new Battlefield games currently in development

Gamesindustry.biz is reporting that EA DICE executive producer Ben Cousins (not to be confused with the former AFL footballer) has confirmed that EA DICE is currently working on five titles in the Battlefield franchise.

"Since the start of this year I've been working as executive producer for the entire Battlefield franchise - we've got five titles in development at the moment, which is probably more than you expect," said Cousins during his GDC keynote.

Two of them were titles we're fully aware of, Battlefied: Bad Company and the online only Battlefield Heroes. One of the titles is a game for the Korean market and the other two titles are currently unknown, although we wouldn't be surprised if one of the versions is a PC edition and one is a follow up to Battlefield: Bad Company.

EA DICE must be rather busy at the moment, aside from these Battlefield games the company is also working on Mirror's Edge, which is set for release towards the end of the year.

Battlefield 3, for PC would have to be one of them.

Details about it were leaked in October last year, EA responded with a "No comment" reply, and it all sounded pretty likely, aside of course, from the Teaser trailer in January 2008...

It's good to see the DICE is still keeping the Battlefield franchise going, but what era of war can they possible recreate now?
I'm going to pray for the colonial time with muskets, horses and those funny little hats. And you even get a cutlass and have sword fights, none of those girly little bread knife shenanigans.

Hmm I guess it's been ages since we saw a Battlefield game so yea 3 more....awesome! I'm just wondering why only 3? 9 more games in the series would be perfect, and yea announce them now, i'm sure it'll only take a couple of months to make each one.
