Xbox 360 information leaked?

360 Rumour | Microsoft accidentally leaks details on GH4, Forza 3 and avatars for the Xbox 360.
Those crafty guys at Neogaf appear to have come across some information about games that haven't even been announced just yet. This information came from a marketing website, which featured some of the latest information on Activision and Microsoft's future titles.

First up, it seems like avatars will be coming to the Xbox 360. According to the image we've been shown, "Avatars are digital personas available this holiday for all Xbox Live connected members and this Spring [Autumn for us] for all new console owners. Avatars will be used in place of the gamer picture you have today and will give you a much more lifelike, animated and fully customisable persona for you to reflect who you are online".

First information was also revealed on Microsoft published games, Scene It? 2, Forza Motorsport 3 and Lips. The following is a direct quote describing Lips: "Lips is a music and singing game that includes 30 songs, 2 wireless interactive microphones, the ability to use and sing your own music or downloaded songs from an online service. Designed to have fun with friends, Lips scores you on your singing (pitch, rhythm, and tune) and overall performance. Wireless mics are interactive, with lights on the shaft of the microphone that pulse to the rhythm of your voice, and motion sensors that allow you to dance, move or swing to score points. Take songs from a CD or your iPod, and upload them into the game. The game will reduce the vocals so you can sing along and be heard, and score on whether you're in tune. Lyrics can also be added directly into the song to sing along."

Scene It? Pop Culture Edition will contain trivia questions about movie, music and pop culture. According to the website, Forza Motorsport 3 will be a 2 disk title, with 100 tracks and over 400 cars. The game will feature "near limitless customisation options for car tuning and custom artwork" and will feature several new race modes, such as drag, drift, oval and point-to-point racing.

In the leak, some new information was also released about Guitar Hero 4. Apparently the game will come with a new touch-sensitive guitar neck slide that opens up the "entire guitar neck for unbound solos". The leaked document also states that some of the artists that will feature in the game include Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, Muse and "dozens more".

For more information on other Activision titles such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Spider-Man Vs Marvel Zombies and Transformers 2, head to Neogaf. It's worth noting that Microsoft and Activision have confirmed none of these details just yet. When, and if they do, we'll let you know.

Stupid microsoft, copying the Wii. First a motion controller and now avatars? Can't they just leave their console how it is and make all that stuff for the next console. The next nintendo console will be different as well, then microsoft will copy it again.

Hey, there's no point avoiding doing something just because someone else has done it first. A good idea is a good idea, no matter who thought of it first.

I hope they got more on the cards then that. That's all rubbish.

Funny thing is, where does Nintendo go for their 'next' console, which will probably be less powerful than the current xbox360 and Ps3. They can only stay out of the Hi-Def market for so long. Once they enter, agreed it'll be cheaper than what it is now, but then they'll want to keep costs down to appeal to the young family audience, the Hi-Def won't be really current Hi-Def. If there aim is to appeal to the family market and not go Hi-Def, what sort of WHAM are they going to deliver to make the millions of people who bought one upgrade.

Nintendo have really drawn themselves into a corner really IMO. Yes they have motion sensing controls, the whole console and software is based around that. There are only so many games where motion sensing will seem original and fresh. And what about next console, that would have to be based around motion sensing too right? Nintendo wouldn't go out and make motion sensing the big thing then in 3 years, after millions of consoles sold, billions profit, move away from that would they? They couldn't, but they surely couldn't bring out another 'motion sensing' console, cause why would people want to upgrade.

Thats why i think Microsoft and Sony have got it right here. They have made a console based on traditional-controller methods, and now are incorporating the motion cause it's seems to be what people like. For people that don't like the idea of motion controls, they don't get it simple as that they just keep playing their FPS and stuff. At least they are giving them options.

I have all 3 and IMO the wii is the least enjoyable of them all. Wii-motion is so tacky and most games don't even use the sensing properly turning a game more into mindless hand waiving hoping for it to work. Imagine playing and Xbox of Playstation game where every time you pressed the fire trigger it would work maybe every 3-4th time, the game would score horrible reviews and would be deemed unplayable. Yet still all these games that use the motion control score high scores and yet don't even work properly. That's why i don't like the idea of Microsoft introducing a wii motion control, but hey, it's a add-on that i don't have to be apart of whereas it's fixed with the Wii and will most likely be fixed to the next nintendo console.

But the motion controls on the 360 won't be as successful as the Wii. With the Wii, the developers have to have motion controls, but on the 360 it will be optional. If Microsoft release a Xbox Fitness, I will seriously NEVER use a microsoft product again, even though I rarely do now.

Hey, if they manage to release a Singstar-like game that lets you use your own custom tracks (doubtful) I'd be all over it like a rash. Fantastic idea, finally we'd be free from being forced* into singing Madonna and Farnham tracks!

Wow, way to show how blind brand loyalty can make you.

Do you use Band aids that aren't made by the company 'Band Aid' out of some sort of ethical divisiveness too?

How it would measure the correct pitch and stuff for user uploaded songs is beyond me. And also, where would it find the lyrics for the tracks. Seems all a bit too much for a game to handle.

O...M.... G

"Hey guys, let's all play 'lips'" - that is just so wrong. Maybe I'm just used to Singstar - but I feel Singstar has brand appeal. This is just going to fall dead like Xbox Music Maker.

And Forza 3 - 100 tracks - what 20 tracks with 5 iterations each? I'll believe it when I see 100 'different' tracks.... especially when Forza 1 and 2 only had about 10 different tracks.

Well, Nintendo can still upgrade their graphics and motion sensing. The next step would be something you put on your hands and feet or maybe a full body suit, and you have to play the game like that, Virtual Reality. That will be the next big advancement in the gaming industry.

You say that Microsoft and Sony have a good system with their standard controllers, but take the 360 for example. It is basically the Xbox with better graphics and downloadable games and stuff like that. The Playstation 3 is a little different, with a little motion sensing technology, but other than that it is the same. I am in no way saying they are bad console, just that they are sticking to the formula that works.

Maybe Nintendo have backed themselves into a corner with motion sensing technology, but I am sure they will think up something to make the next console different. Maybe the same as the Wii with HD graphics and a proper online service. The next Xbox and Playstation console will just be like the current ones, except with awesome graphics, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They might change what they are doing, but I don't think they wanna take as big a risk as Nintendo did with the Wii. I guess only time will tell.

They have always cornered themselves... and they admit that's what they want to do, they don't care about third parties, they just want to make controllers that work for their style of games. Look at the Nintendo 64 controller. Similarly the layout of the gamecube controller with the bean shaped buttons, the 8 way camera stick, only three shoulder buttons made it not the preferred choice. and now the wii.

Woah! Check out the swastika inspired controller graphic at the beginning of the article!

^ I can see what your saying but it's a bit of a stretch to call it a swastika. I thought it looked like the blades of a fan. It's one of those things like clouds people see different things I'm 100% positive there's no inference being made.

Hence me being doubtful. However, there are plenty of lyrics databases and services around, so if there was some way of importing them via a dedicated website (or similar) that could be done. The vocal parts is the real stumbling point...

Awesome pipe-dream though.

Wow, that Lips game sounds good. I'm no fan of karaoke, but the number of cool things you can do rocks (it judges on all 3 of pitch, rhythm, and tune, it has motion sensing, and you can play ANY song with it).

I wouldn't call it a stretch, but I do think it's innocent enough. icon_wink.gif

Thats what I'm wondering, will it be 20 tracks with different variations or even 10 tracks with 10 variations each. Would be nice if they had a demolition derby in the game and had a few tracks for such an event, even a skid pan for practicing drifting would be a welcomed addition to the series.

^ If it included 2-3 veriations per track as some did in Forza 2, then 33-50 unique tracks would be great! Excellent to see more cars as well but it wouldn't suprise me if they were veriations of the same cars as well just like in GT games.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Forza 3 FTW!

Also I'm not complaining about the realease of Lips as I was actually considering rebuying a PS2 so I could just get the singstar titles. Hopefully the tracks included will be half decent as Xbox Music Mixers collection was very cringe worthy..

I will like to second that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 ftw. I so need to play with my friends on co op again ^^

Awesome news, going to be great thrashing out to some Korn, System and Hendrix with the motion sensitive guitar.
