Gears of War gets a new special edition

360 News | Not particularly special, though.
It seems that US retailer GameStop is suggesting that there's a brand new Gears of War special edition on the way, TeamXbox reports.

Included in this new edition are a bunch of new themes and gamer pictures, trailers from the game and its upcoming sequel, an Emergence Day message from Cliffy B, and, most interestingly, both map packs will come bundled in the package. There will even be a trailer for one of the map packs, which seems like a bit of overkill. Hardly incentive for anyone who already actually owns the game to buy it again, then.

However, Microsoft haven't actually said anything about its US release at this point, let alone about it appearing on PAL shores. Not that we would be missing out on much either way, though.

Uhh, why would anyone want this? Everyone that wants GoW has it, and GoW 2 is coming out soon, so it seems a bit useless. Oh well, if you are just buying a 360 now it's good I suppose.

I don't have GeOW, but I don't want this. Seems like a lame excuse to bump up the price to 70 instead of 40ish RRP.
