Fight Night single player experience "shallow"

360 News | So says Prizefighter's Executive Producer.
Speaking in an interview to be published later today on PALGN, the Executive Producer of Don King Presents: Prizefighter Matthew Seymour has commented that the single player experience in Fight Night Round 3 is shallow.

PALGN asked Matthew what he thinks of Fight Night and how he feels Prizefighter has bested that franchise and he made the following comment: "Well I think EA have done a fantastic job with Fight Night. Visually it looks stunning and there are lots of things they've done right. However, I always felt that their single player experience was a little shallow, and Fight Night always felt more for hardcore gamers in that respect. With Prizefighter, we're trying to broaden that audience to reach a hardcore and casual market, and that's why we've added so much into our Career Mode, which plays like a documentary and really puts you into the game. We've also done a lot of things in multiplayer that we feel has bested EAs franchise, and this in turn will help capture the more casual market."

That's good news - but what is with this crappy marketing strategy where to promote your game you have to be negative against older games. I would be disappointed if Prizefighter wasn't as good as Fight Night.

Having said that he is right - Fight Night career mode was pretty crappy, and actually i don't know about everyone else but I thought the fighting system was shallow to me. The haymakers were too powerful, but if you didn't use them the pacing of the game was too slow. The best part of the game was the create a boxer mode. I created all my friends and we had a great time beating the crap out of each other.
