GTA IV cut details emerge

360 News | So, what's missing from our version?
One of our readers, Mick, has sent through a summary of what has been cut from the Australian version of Grand Theft Auto IV, in comparison to the UK version. Mick has played through both versions of the game.

According to Mick, when players pick up a prostitute in the Australian version, there is no way to select a 'service' from the prostitute. The sexual intercourse sex animation has also been completely removed, so players will only see the car bounce from a locked rear-view. In the uncut version, after selecting a service from the prostitute, players can rotate the camera to see the prostitute's actions.

Also in the Australian version, no blood pools will appear beneath a dead person after shooting or stabbing them to death. There are blood splatters, but no blood pools. In the uncut version, blood will slowly ooze out from under a body, and it is possible to create bloody footprints by walking through the blood, or bloody tyre tracks from driving through it. Finally, when Niko or other NPCs are injured in the uncut version, light blood patches appear on their bodies which basically represent bruises/bullet wounds.

Mick doesn't make mention of any cutscene changes or any other alterations, so it seems the local censorship really was quite minor.

Thanks to Mick for the tip. It has also come to our attention since publication that bloody footprints and tyre tracks are in the AU version.

The tyre tracks just look stupid, it looks like he's gone into paint and done a light red streak and covered it up with a photoshop filter :S

This is giving me a headache. If I AM wrong then why the hell can't I get it to work in my version wtf?
if i took a pic it would come up just as blury - hell someone could make a vid but at the end of the day whats ther point i no there in there he dos as well and 2 forum mods have confirmed something else as well its 4 agenst 1 .

lol there is no dismemberment in the game, period. I don't care who claims it's in the game, it's not. It's idiotic to suggest it is. Funny how there hasn't been a single confirmation of it on any other forum. I seem to be the only one here with both versions, so why are you arguing with me?

Awesome now I'm a magician.I don't have photoshop or any other pic editing program. So now I can even use programs I don't have, to do something I've never done before.

How about you do exactly what I said I did when I got those pics.

I have, it doesn't work.

Well I'm not trying to prove that.I believe you when you say there is no dismemberment.

But you are wrong about the bloody tyre tracks. If you personally knew me, you would know that I wouldn't lie about this.Hell I could probably count how many times I've lied in my entire life on one hand.Honesty is one of my strongest beliefs.

It's quite easy to see that the people harping on about dismemberment are full of it, especially in the censored Australian version because there was no mention of dismemberment in the OFLC's board report which PALGN published a while ago and more so, the NZ OFLC also made no mention of dismemberment as can be seen in a recent interview with Chief Censor Bill Hastings in regards to the content of the game which I posted previously. This is most certainly classifiable content and would have been mentioned.

Ok to begin with I was a little annoyed that you keep on trying to prove me wrong. But then I thought to myself, what you're doing isn't really any different to what I'm doing.

You strongly believe that there are no bloody tyre tracks in the Aus version.I can also understand how you could honestly think I'm faking those pics. After all there are many ways to fake things over the internet.

But in all honesty, I don't know how to fake pics.I'm always totally astounded at some of the things are fake.Like how people can make vids of someone playing a game on a tv that are fake.To me that would be the equivalent to a caveman coming to our time and seeing a tv playing.

I have seen blood on the tire tracks in the AU version, definitely. It just happened when I shot someone from my car, then ran over the body. It has happened before once or twice as well.

Pre-render the video, burn it to a DVD and put it in your 360 and pretend to be playing it. Easy.

And I thought it was done some extremely technical way.But now that you've told me I can't believe I didn't think of that.

Maybe it's harder to get it to work in the AU version. This is what seems be what's becoming apparent. But still, after trying countless times different ways I personally couldn't get it to work.

All you have to do is use a decent video editing program to edit some footage from a previous GTA you've recorded and bam, there's your pre-rendered footage. I mean none of those fake pre-release GTA IV videos consisted of gameplay footage so it would have been quite easy to fabricate something.

It is harder. After I did it the first time, it took me a few tries to do it again.

why cant you produce this ? - and god gameplay was leaked im not even going to start there .

Yeah gameplay footage was leaked because the game itself was leaked but I'm talking about a particular fake video (which I assume was being referred too) which would have been piss easy to fake.

And I dunno why I can't get it to work, maybe a glitch? I don't know.

Actually I wasn't referring to any particular vid.
