The game is being made by developer tri-Ace, who would be mostly recognised as the developers behind the Star Ocean franchise. Infinite Undiscovery has a traditional RPG narrative where a young boy is suddenly placed into a situation where he must save the world from some evil-doers, but battles will not necessarily be so traditional.
When talking about the battle system, Square-Enix elaborates: "As players are faced with a variety of episodic situational battles, they will discover that they may have to try various methods to defeat the enemy, where the most obvious solution is rarely the right move. Snipe distant enemies with the help of a bow-wielding ally or skilled magic user. Based on each player's decisions, the intricate environments will offer a variety of experiences, presented in a way never before seen in RPGs."
We'll have more on Infinite Undiscovery as it draws closer to its September release date.
