Guitar Hero World Tour unveiled

360 News | The Guitar Hero franchise gets a change.
After weeks of speculation Activision has finally lifted the lid on Guitar Hero World Tour, according to Eurogamer.

Guitar Hero World Tour is currently in development at Neversoft and introduces vocals and drums. The game will also feature wireless instruments, as well as the biggest tracklisting ever on disk. There will also be a multi-track recording studio, which will allow players to create their own songs.

According to Activision the drums will be the "most realistic drum experience ever in a video game". Unlike Rock Band, World Tour will offer three pads and two raised cymbals. There's also supposed to be a "newly designed" and "more responsive" guitar, though more information on the guitar wasn't revealed.

The Band Career Mode will be fully playable online for up to four players, and you'll also be able to create your own character, there will be several customisation options, ranging from tattoos to the types of pick.

The tracklisting for the game hasn't been confirmed, but we can expect to see Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles and Sublime in the game. The game is set for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and Wii later this year. Meanwhile, a trailer for the game can be viewed at Gametrailers.com.

Oh no. Now it's going to have 4 or so career modes for me to play through, not that I'd have to play through any but the guitar one if I didn't want to. Woe is me.

/End sarcasm.

I'll be happy when GH4, Rock Band, and Rock Revolution are actually released here =D

My bet is that Guitar HEro will get a much better relas date than Rock Band, and it'll be....$200.

I'm to the point where i just don't think Rock Band is ever going to come out, and even if it does, well fuck them, i won't get it purely because of the treatment we get here (and price), bring on guitar hero.......

This.

Seriously what is it, like 6 months after the release and our tentetive release date is september? Thats like a full year...

I really like the style of Rock Band but yeah if a competitor is going to bring something to market sooner and with similar/better features then good on 'em.

One thing that really bugs me though is that there is going to be *three* different companies doing "band" games, all with their own unique accessories.

The worst part is that even though we've had to wait so long for Rock Band, at least we were getting some songs unique to the PAL version.

But then all those songs were released as DLC for the US.

Wtf was the point in the wait, then? -_-

Yay Guitar Hero.

So i guess none of you's guys will ever get an iphone then? Cause no way would you support someone who brings out a product in the US a full year before it's released in Australia.

I'd be surprised if this new 'Guitar Hero' is delayed anywhere near as long as Rock Band has been (there will still be a delay, obviously, because of licensing but RB had peripheral production issues from the get go which hampered it further (along with the mass breakages)) - but I still don't see why anyone would assume it'll somehow magically be really cheap. $200? Really?! For the same kind of package (Guitar, mic, drums...)? Taco, you're dreaming.

I do also think there will be major peripheral problems. I still use my guitar hero 2 guitar, cause the Guitar Hero 3 one is absolute SHITE. I think there will be more issues here with breakages than with the rock band ones.

Nope, more for the fact that I have a perfectly good phone and don't see why I should drop that much cash on a phone when I can get one for less then half.

And yeah we don't know if it will be delayed but when you look at the fact that Since Guitar Hero 2 we've been getting the guitar hero games around 10-15 days after the US, there is a fair chance of us getting 4 in a timely manner.

I don't need an iphone, and i doubt that i am the rest of the people on palgn.

If i wanted an iphone, yes, i would probably get stinky at that too.

That iPhone is supposedly not getting released in Australia. We are getting the 2nd gen iPhone with 3G support.
