Too Human dated

360 News | For Europe and America. Legods.
Microsoft has stated that once highly anticipated Too Human will actually be released in August this year, with North America getting the game on the 19th, while Europe has to wait until the 29th.

Too Human has a heck of a lot of backstory behind its development. Canadian developers Silicon Knights first showed the game way back in 1999 at E3, where it was originally planned for release on the first PlayStation. However, a partnership with Nintendo saw the game pushed onto the GameCube - but it was all a bit pointless really, as the partnership fell through. Silicon Knights then struck a deal with Microsoft to make a trilogy of Too Human games - presumably with faster, less storied developments.

In the actual game itself, players will take on the role of Baldur, the son of the mighty Odin, in an ancient past where Norse gods were real. But cyborgs. Expect to slash lots of baddies with swords.

While no Australian date has been confirmed, we can't imagine it will be far away from the US and European dates.

No 4 player co-op, no local 2 player co-op, so now, I fail to care.

I've watched the developer's diaries on Xbox LIVE. Read numerous entries on the Too Human blog over at IGN and seen lots of media. If it wasn't for Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, I wouldn't be a fan of the games from Silicon Knights. I'm definitely giving this game a shot.

I'm really looking forward to this. I like games with a strong setting and story and from all reports it seems to have both.

The gameplay looks a bit generic atm though, but hopefully it will come through OK.

I honestly can't believe this game is going to come out. I will be there day one just because of the development story!

Also looking forward to hearing Silicon Knights howl and moan about how Gears of War 2 only sold 10 times more because Epic were screwing them over with the UE3 though icon_razz.gif

This was a big disappointment for me too, I was mainly looking for this to be a coop experience. I might still get it for the online coop, but only if my other friends get it.

I haven't been paying all that much attention to this, but I thought one of, if not the main, draw of the game was the 4 player online multi? Didn't they say it was a Diablo/PSO style game?

And now that's not there? What?

The gameplay looks button-mashy in the extreme, so I'll be giving this one a miss. You can never trust a Dennis who spells his name with one 'n'.

My goodness - the number of podcasts and previews where Dennis Dyack has yapped on about how this game is going to be so great and how wonderful blah blah blah with 4 player co-op offline and on line and that he was going to prove everyone and the journalists wrong because of his crap E3 showing.

Makes me mad...

Oh by the way its not button mashy - because you use the second analog stick for all your attacks.

EDIT: HANG ON - are you guys sure - Eurogamer says 4 player co-op is still in the game as of yesterday. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=140006

DOUBLE EDIT: ok 1up shane Bettenhausen also confirms there's no 4 player co-op.

The one thing going from Denis and Silicon Knights is that they created the first Legacy of Kain title, which was excellent! For that, I will always be grateful. For a title that's been milling around in purgatory for the last 9 years, you'd want to think it will be nothing less than stellar.
