Banjo Kazooie details revealed

360 News | As the game gets a name change.
Courtesy of Neogaf comes some of the first information for the newly retitled Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, which we provided the first images for, yesterday.

On the forum comes information from the US Magazine, Game Informer. In Nuts and Bolts players will create vehicles from the parts that they find around the levels. There will be 1600 parts including weapons that can be attached to the vehicles, and even though it seems like the game will put a large emphasis on vehicles, Game Informer claims that the game still features traditional platforming elements from the previous games, such as tight rope walking and jiggy piece collecting.

In the game the town is called Showdown Town. Showdown Town is apparently 16 times larger than anything Rare has created before. In typical Rare fashion, every level with feature a different introduction featuring satire - Nutty Acres for example begins with a credits spoof of 80's soap operas. In total Nuts and Bolts will contain 15 different challenges spread across six different levels.

So is this still Banjo Threeie, or Banjo Kazooie Create A Car spinoff?

Hang on, I just read over at Kotuku that rare have responded to 'it's a racer comments' and said it will not be a racer.

Relax people. Relax.

Exactly! I interpreted it more as a Jak and Daxter style thing - platforming with a racing sub-game type thing.

I don't know, it sounds like they're trying to change BK to establish it to a new market. I'll wait and see before passing judgement though.

Come on Rare, make me buy a 360!

hey hey before you get all neggy, i just think that maybe microsoft as they have more of a hand in it may butcher what was a great game for me on the N64...

Rare realised they couldn't just copy the latest Mario platformer like they did with Banjo 1 so they had to completely change the game icon_razz.gif

I kid, I kid.

But seriously. Make the game a damn platformer. No vehicles, no shooting. Just platforming.

God people are idiots. Seriously. The head looks square, there are going to be vehicles, THE GAME HAS BEEN RUINED OFMG!!!!!! You don't know jack **** about the game except for a few tiny pieces of info that you are speculating on and you are saying the game is ****.

It was a Mario clone. Let's be honest here. And it's not like this is an unprecedenent move. Banjo Tooie had FPS segments in it wich were advertised pretty heavily.

People were not bitching about the game’s gameplay based on the art, they were simply disappointed with the new art design.

Don’t over exaggerate. Considering there have already been two Banjo games people are entitled to be disappointed with a different art direction.

doesnt matter if it was a mario clone, what was wrong with mario games?? they just used a proven formula and wouldnt you know it got a great result....

i dont want to be seen as jumping to conclusions based on a few screens but its kinda hard not to...

I don't see anyone calling it ****. Looks like people are disapointed that there seems to be a large focus on vehicles in the game, when previous entires in the series were mainly platformers.

Hey, this may be mainly a platformer too. But that wouldn't explain why the first major coverage of the game focuses on the vehicles.

It's really easy to not jump to a conclusion, you just wait till you find out more info on the game.
All we have is some screens and vauge details and you're allready saying that it would have been better on a Nintendo console because Microsoft interfered too much.

Thats way jumping to conclusions.

i never said it would be better on nintendo, i just said bring it back to nintendo...and then i said maybe microsoft would butcher it i never said they would..so in this instance you have jumped to a pretty quick conclusion...

rare games have been better in the past IMO and thats when they were on nintendo and to be honest i guess thats were most of the fan base for BK games lies as to have played the game previously you had to play it on a nintendo console...

i just also get the feeling that the charm that this game could potentially have will be lost to a console that has its strong point in FPS...i own a 360 and thats the main games i play on it..

Well what else is one suposed to take away from
"Bring it back to Nintendo were it belongs!!!"
It's not really a terrible leap of logic to assume you think it would be better on the Nintendo, I mean its not like you're gunna be saying that because you think it would be worse on the Nintendo

Rare games we're better before half the company quit and formed Free Radical. It has nothing to do with witch platform they're on.

maybe they were supposed to take away from it that it would be more suited to a nintendo console, say in terms of target market?? do you think it will sell better on xbox or would it have sold better on wii perhaps?? will it get lost to the masses of FPS, Driving Sims and sporting titles on the 360?? it cant possibly be better graphically on the wii so i definately wasnt saying that...

maybe its not a terrible leap in respect to the logic your using to draw the conclusion that you have....but i still respect that fact that you take what you will from a one liner...

so if half the rare team have left are you implying it will be a worse game due to them vacating??

We know you're ****, so anything you say the opposite is usually correct.

I don't doubt this game might actually be alright production wise (like good graphics, nice menus etc) but content wise it looks like a stinker. They really should take Banjo and Kazooie out of the game replace it with **** Yogi bear and doodle bird or sum ****! This is gonna ruin Banjo's image and sooner or later he's gonna be pimped out like Sonic and Crash Bandicoot which is the last thing we all want.

You think after like a 10 year abscence the least they can do is give the fans what they want.....just more Banjo Kazooie on a next gen platform. It's really not that complicated for **** sake!
