On the forum comes information from the US Magazine, Game Informer. In Nuts and Bolts players will create vehicles from the parts that they find around the levels. There will be 1600 parts including weapons that can be attached to the vehicles, and even though it seems like the game will put a large emphasis on vehicles, Game Informer claims that the game still features traditional platforming elements from the previous games, such as tight rope walking and jiggy piece collecting.
In the game the town is called Showdown Town. Showdown Town is apparently 16 times larger than anything Rare has created before. In typical Rare fashion, every level with feature a different introduction featuring satire - Nutty Acres for example begins with a credits spoof of 80's soap operas. In total Nuts and Bolts will contain 15 different challenges spread across six different levels.
