Banjo Kazooie 3 shots

360 News | How is Banjo shaping up?
The first images for Banjo Kazooie 3 have been released on the Neogaf forums. It seems an eagle eyed forum member discovered images for the game at the Microsoft press site.

Actual details on Banjo Kazooie 3 haven't been revealed by Rare, but with the international press embargo breaking shortly we wouldn't be surprised if more becomes available soon.

it might just be me... but Banjo and all other characters looks like Lego Models with a skin over them... And I really dont like their new design compared to their old one.

that being said im looking forward to the game!

anyone else scared the too many vehicles may ruin the game too?

I agree Shadow Wave, I'm really not liking Banjo's new look at all. The old style was much more appealing.

Banjo here looks like he's struggling to find a unique art style and as a result loosing a lot of the original charm.

I do look forward to playing it though. Hopefully vehicles and the like don't wreck the platforming joy the originals had.

I'm fine with the new look of Banjo tbh, but those vehicles are FUGLY!

No, and it never did. Banjo Kazooie belongs to Rare. And for the record, I don't like the new art style much, why are they changing it?

^Banjo 3 was always going to be on 360 because Microsoft bought Rare. Nintendo sold them ages ago now, just look on wikipedia and you'll find out all about it.

EDIT: to quick adam

Banjo never belonged to Nintendo. It's a rare property.

[EDIT] Oh snap beaten twice.

I really don't see what the complaints about the art style are, I am digging it, verry art deco.

Viva Piñata 2 looks better then this... BLEH

Looks great. Not really all that much of a departure to the original. I guess they are going for more stylized "hard angle" character models.

The vehicles are big and ugly, just how they should be. Can't wait. Am craving for more GOOD 3D platformers. Hopefully they don't try to hard to push this to the core 360 demographic and focus on deathmatches and weapons. Let's keep it pure platforming.

Looking at Banjo's legs, I can't help but be reminded of Gumby.

Please, no vehicles. PLEASE!

Oh well, theres one poor element already. Besides the fact it looks like they've placed Banjo in the Kameo universe.

icon_wall.gif and I was so ready for a good Rare game.

And in breaking news, Jibbs told you so.

So from now on we're going to call games as **** based on a dozen screens, half of which seem to be from a multiplayer side mode, and the majority of the other half of which look exactly like something that could have been in the original games that everybody loved (the shot of Banjo standing there watching what appears to be a synthetic Spiral mountain being created before him looks fantastic, and would have fit in perfectly in BK / BT - other than the fact its so purdy).

Rare returned to form with Viva Pinata, and damned if this (and VP2) won't continue that. And yes, I'm telling you so. Because I said. And I'm better than Jibbs.

Game looks awesome, despite what Jibbs may say.

Now, where is my Conker sequel rare!
There's also 4 more screens available at the Rare Witch Project site here.

Agree with LeonJ on both counts, its looking pretty damn sexy. Hopefully Rare can make the reason I bought a 360 worth it (although I think I've put enough hours on it already for that).

+ a Conker sequel would be.. well not many words can describe it but **** and AWESOME are a couple that come to mind.

I am not liking the new look personally as long as it at least plays like Banjo of yore I'm in... but I am skeptical with these new vehicles

I think the environment art is a perfect fit but the design of Banjo is ****. He looks like a no-neck square-headed idiot. I thought the old model was much, much better and I would have much preferred they stick with that. It would have fit in fine.

I also don't like the vehicle design. There is a line between "wacky" and "stupid". It seems to me they tried to do the whole overboard ridiculous design thing, which works well with cartoony design, but here it just looks waaay too overboard to the point of pointless.

I'll hold my judgement on the game until I play, and I hope its great since I loved Banjo-Kazooie. But as it stands I'm not a fan of what Rare have done to the art of Banjo. Reminds me of when they released the first shots of Perfect Dark Zero, showing they butchered Joanna Dark.

And while Viva Pinata might have been good it doesn't change the fact that the four or five titles before it were average at best. Perfect Dark Zero was a huge let down, Conkers Bad Fur Day Uncut was a crummy remake, Grabbed By The Goulies was in no way memorable, and Kameo was the best of the lot and even then lacked a lot of classic Rare quality.

Not to mention StarFox Adventures is easily hateable due to annoying characters and ripped-off and simplified Zelda gameplay.

Viva Pinata was after those though. Hence they've returned to form. Admittedly its a form streak of 1, but, you know, whatever.

I still don't get, and never will, how the generic art of Banjo in the N64 days is supposed to be any better than this. But hey, opinions, arseholes.

Yeah, it’s just a matter of taste. The way my taste goes is;

Cute goofy honey bear and scoundrel mouthy bird.

Of course not, but the ingame model was based off that design and despite being significantly lower in poly count, texture resolution, and shader effects it still was the same Banjo.

New Banjo does not look like old Banjo with better graphics. It looks like new Banjo with new art style, also with better graphics.

What you're looking at in that picture is how he would have looked, or at least close to, had they kept the old art style, which in my opinion is far more suited to Banjo and Kazooie's personality.
