I used these cheats last night on my brother's offline profile on my 360 and they were heaps fun.

I just want to know if I were to use them on my saved file on my profile then switched off the game without saving after using the cheats, would i still be able to get the achievements?

I've been using the weapons, and yeah I have been using them for missions too, shame on me but I've been using them on all past GTA's since III so why not?

Anyhow, for the people who don't know as I found out just a little while ago now there is a cheat option in the menu of the phone and that's where your cheats are put when you do them for the first time so you can activate them any time you want without retyping the cheat again, I think it's really cool how they did that.

Normally I'm very anti-cheat, but with the openess of GTA I'm willing to overlook it this time since they can be used to enhance the fun icon_smile.gif

I wonder if Rockstar will release more cheats later or if that's it. I just remember from previous GTAs there were fun cheats like "Psycho Pedestrians" and "Your car is made of lead".

eckymosis: If you use a cheat then your current game is "flagged" as "Cheats used". So if you save then the flag is saved too. But if you load up a game (or quit and restart) that is cheat-free then you should still have Achievements active.

I've always loved the fact that you could cheat in GTA games. The sandbox style just beggs for cheating mayhem. The fact that you can store them in your mobile means that R* understand that.

Luke, is that an invitation to fool around with you? icon_wink.gif

Excellent. Some of the most fun I've had in the GTA games have been thanks to cheats. That's a pretty stock standard list for now. I really hope they plan on releasing some of the more insane cheats later on, something along the lines of 'weaponsforall' and 'itsallgoingmaaad'. Type those while playing GTA3 for some instant fun.

Bubblecar was also a personal fav of mine.

GTA cheats are great fun
I usually complete the missions before attempting them though, I also save it on another slot so I dont ruin my score on the game. The first time I completed a GTA without cheats i was thrilled.

flying cars, bounty on your head, tank, peds have weapons and vehicle of death please!

i would've preferred if the game disabled autosaves as well as achievements, that way i won't accidentally save over any legitimate attempt with a "screw around" save.

So it's not like the other GTAs, where you had to go back to a house/hotel/hideout to save?

Are you importing then? It autosaves by default after missions.

No, noooo, not until I've finished the game.. I can't help putting cheats in icon_sad.gif

I sit down to do a mission, then bam, my character is wearing the hooker suit shooting bazookas in all directions.

Some of the cheats don't deactivate the achievements (the game tells you when you put them in if they do). Here's what achievements get deactivated by what cheats:

Cheat and what achievement it disables:
Health And Weapons Call GTA-555-0100 -----Cleaned mean streets 20 points
Weapons Call GUN-555-0150 ------------------------------ Same as above
Advanced Weapons Call GUN-555-0100 ------------------Same as above
Health Call DOC-555-0100 ----- Cleaned mean streets - Finish him - 1 man army - walk free 125 points
Wanted Level Down Call COP-555-0100 -----1 man army - Walk Free 90 points
Wanted Level Up Call COP-555-0150 --------------------------------None
Climate Change Call HOT-555-0100 --------------------------------None
Spawn Cognoscenti (Mafia Car) Call CAR-555-0142 ------------None
Spawn Sanchez (Dirt Bike) Call MBK-555-0150 -------------------None
Spawn FBI Buffalo Call CAR-555-0100 ------------------------------None
Spawn Turismo Call CAR-555-0147 --------------------------------None
Spawn NRG900 Call MBK-555-0100 --------------------------------None
Spawn Comet Call CAR-555-0175 -------------------------------None
Spawn SuperGT Call CAR-555-0168 ------------------------------None
Spawn Police Chopper Call FLY-555-0100 ------- 1 man army - Walk Free 90 points
Spawn Jetmax(Boat) Call WET-555-0100 -------------------------- None

So get 1 Man Army, Walk Free, Finish Him, Cleaned Mean Streets, and you're free to use any cheat it seems.
