Army of Two demo coming tomorrow

360 News | DLC also revealed.
A demo of the recently released co-op shooter Army of Two will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, according to Army of Two Assistant Producer, Matt Turner in his latest blog. The demo will give you the chance to try out the game in its training level as well as the first map of the game, for those that are still uncertain about a purchase.

Turner also mentioned in the blog that downloadable content is definitely on the way, and revealed that 'there is 1 new multiplayer map arriving as well as 2 new campaign maps in the not too distant future'. An upcoming patch is also set to fix problems such as connection problems, headset issues and region lock.

The Army of Two demo will only be available on the Xbox 360 at this time, strangely not the PlayStation 3 as well, although we assume that the DLC will be downloadable on both platforms. Until then, why not give our review of the game a read?

Excellent! I've been umming and arring over whether I should (eventually) purchase the game or not, being a big fan of local co-op play but not having lots of time to do it, so I guess I'll have to start freeing up some room on the HDD.

I'm interested in looking at this game too. I'm in the same boat, I love co-op games but don't have a huge amount of time for them. If the game's really good then I might try to make some room in my game time.

having finished the game I can put in my comments about it.

Playing it co-op with my wife was lots of fun. Definitely have to play as a team, as all the times I ran off gung ho without her we died.... =p

Controls are pretty intuitive, but some others (like swapping weapons) is a little cumbersome (but after using Vegas 2's weapon swapping, I find AoT to be easier - but still not great). The context button doesn't always do what you want your character to do (like slide up to cover etc) too, but in most cases it works.

Pretty much, if you're use to playing Gears you'll pick up AoT quickly. The only thing you'll miss is the roadie run.

The story was only okay in my opinion (plot etc), but i really liked the characters as they were quite funny.

A fun part of the game was the weapon upgrades. You can go for a gun that'll have excellent accuracy (almost no kick back), but with medium damage, or choose a gun that allows high damage upgrades with only medium upgrades for the accuracy (personally my wife and I choose guns that gave us the maximum accuracy).

I reckon try the demo when it's out and see how you like it. I can't comment on the multiplayer, cuz i haven't tried it (probably won't try it ever), but I really enjoyed playing the campaign co-op. Definitely worth a rent.

Nice, I really wanted a demo for this game. It's a shame that there is no PlayStation 3 demo (as I would buy that version, not really paying for Live anymore once my subscription runs out), but trying the demo on 360 will be nice.

Either way though, I might wait until I can pick this up for $30-$40.
