Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack on the way

360 News | Bungie keeping details under their helmet until Tuesday.
The latest weekly update from Bungie has teased players with a few details for the upcoming Legendary Map Pack for Halo 3 that will be making its way to Xbox Live in the near future.

Unfortunately Halo fans will have to wait a little longer for more details to surface. Bungie states that they will reveal two maps from the Legendary Map Pack (which are set to appear alongside the already revealed Ghost Town) as well as the release date for the latest downloadable content pack.

In a move that's sure to please players that spend most of their time watching the death cam, Bungie has also stated that the Hornet has undergone some changes. As well as the cosmetic tweaks, the Hornet has been slightly powered down to become 'less of an airborne death machine and more of an aerial support vehicle' as missiles have been removed and the effectiveness of its guns have been reduced to help balance out gameplay.

Look forward to Tuesday for more details on Halo 3's Legendary Map Pack.

Only 3 maps? thats hardly Legendary since the last pack was 3 maps - which was... Heroic.

Im not sure about other people, I was expecting 4 or 5 maps like they did with Halo 2.

my hopes are a lot lower for a remake of Blood Gulch now.

Well I hope at least one map is an old classic.

Valhalla is NOT the same as Blood Gulch. Its smaller and is not made for vehicles, compared to the epic Blood Gulch.

A great map I would hope for, would be the Beach Island map from Halo 1 PC. Its basically a replica with a few alterations of Silent Cartographer , and made for some fantastic Multilayer battles!

Anyway new maps = good regardless I guess.

Cheers

Speaking of beaches, I would love the outside of the Silent Cartographer as a multiplayer map, even if it mainly just the beaches with a couple of small areas that go into the island's core. It would make Warthog Jousting fun as you'd be able to get full speed before crashing icon_biggrin.gif

I too am hoping for a Blood Gulch (Coagulation) remake. Even though I have played the map to death through Halo Combat Evolved (1) and Halo 2, I still find that it's my favourite map.

I agree, Valhalla was nothing like Blood Gulch. It's structure was too bent, and there were no places to snipe, unlike Blood Gulch.

So, Bungie, please, Blood Gulch?

Good to hear about the hornet, it was waaay OP'ed.

Can anyone confirm if the heroic pack becomes free once the legendary pack is released?

The heroic pack is apparantly going to be free in August, but i bet that is just a rumor and they become free after these packs are out.
