New Street Fighter IV shots out

360 News | More screens make the wait even more painful.
Street Fighter fans continue to be teased, with even more images of Street Fighter IV being released by Capcom.

Street Fighter IV will feature an updated graphics engine, but will still be a 2D fighter; frankly we think the game looks absolutely fantastic. With some incredible background details and a whole reunion of Street Fighter characters, we're counting the minutes until we'll be able to play this game.

I beg people please don't judge the game on theses screen shots. I am currently an ign insider and i have seen HD videos of people actually playing this game and it's **** amazing. I am serious for anyone who is interested in this game download some HD videos of people playing it. icon_smile.gif going to be awesome imo. I just need to figure out what console i will be buying it on icon_sad.gif. Is it either Dpad for ps3 or achievements for 360 arghhhh!.

Looks great, but does anyone else think Chun Li's calves look a little too thick?

I know Capcom likes their later announcements so here's hoping for a good roster of characters.

I was about to say the same thing. She's got bigger legs than Ken and Ryu. Dahlsim looks awesome as ever though.

Since it's announcement for 2.5D polygons I haven't been as excited. Don't get me wrong I'm hyped for it though not as much as if they announced a high quality HD sprite fighter.

Here's to more character and stage information.

BTW what's the status on Super Street Fighter II: High Definition Turbo Remix?

Yeah Chun Li's legs = eww.

At multiple above statements on Chun Li's legs: I was asking the exact same thing in 3rd Strike.

On HD Remix, last I heard it was meant to be out in the "spring" so anytime between now and May I guess. Anyone got any more info?

Is it just me or am I just seeing the same shots over and over. I haven't seen a new background yet.

New screens, same stage.

Is the choice of stage going to make any difference other than visually in the game anyway?

Hey guys,

Was fortunate enough to play this game this evening. They had several machines in the Taito arcade parlour in Akihabara from the 29th till the 3rd.

You had to line up to play, fortunately the lines weren't that long. All the machines were set to single player so you couldn't play any vs.

I found the game to be quite awesome being a long time Street Fighter fan. The game plays pretty much like classic SF 2D and you can do the usual of the more common combos with relative ease (well with Ryu anyway). There's a few extra features added to the game like this counter move (I think it's called revenge) and you have some cool super super moves.

The animation for each character and new backgrounds are pretty awesome. Unfortunately the game finishes on Sagat, so once you fight him there's a "Thank you" for playing screen.

It's a bit unfortunate I couldn't take any pics in the arcade but I did take some on the outside (you weren't allowed any photos on the outside either but there was no one monitoring you). icon_smile.gif

Nah they're just right...
Chun Li's always had pretty heavy legs... well muscled shall we say...
Some mates in high school used to call her thunder thighs, but I was never that disrespectful icon_wink.gif

This is looking to be awesome...
A 2D fighter with a 3D look is perfection...
Can't wait...

...Wait, isn't that background in Ciel's post from Street Fighter: the Movie (the game)? It looks awfully familiar, and not just because it's a Blanka stage remake.

As others have mentioned, Chun Li has always had chunky thighs. I'm more concerned about Ken in that second screenshot - never mind the hockey hair, he looks like he's made out of play-dough! In fact, everyone's looking slightly boneless in these new screenshots.

Seems like the opposite to me - I could grok 3D mechanics in a 2D fighter, but the reverse still seems like it's compromising the visuals with no benefit to the mechanics.

[Edit:] Donkey Kong Country! I knew it reminded me of something. Makes sense, since it's the same sort of 'flattened' 3D.

Yeah now that you mention it they do look kinda like claymation figures!
But once you get immersed into the gameplay I'm sure you'll forget what they look like... all you will see are two combatants on the screen...

In reference to what I wrote about 2D fighter with 3D look:
I've always loved Street Fighter as a 2D sprite fight. I never got into Virtua Fighter or Tekken etc because of the different controls and feel to it... Mortal Kombat I got into for a while... But SF is the main stayer for me...

If they can successfully transfer the 2D gameplay and feel across to 3D visuals, this will be one happy little camper!! icon_biggrin.gif

Even the 3D SF versions didn't really do much for me... While living in Tokyo, a NZ mate and got played the 3D SF so much on his PS for a period that we got blisters on our thumbs, but that was only cos we didn't have any other SF games to play at home...

Well apart from Ciel (lucky freak! really wish I was back living in Tokyo again now!), it's all speculation until release day... may it come ever so quickly...

The Wife's not gonna be happy that I wanna buy yet another game, but I'd give up my little finger (don't need it to hold controller!) to get a decent SF game on the 360... sacrifices must be made... icon_twisted.gif

Yeah, she certainly has always had developed legs and ive nothing against her thighs, but look at how they dont really taper down so well when you get to her calf muscles? As opposed to having being developed, her calf muscles, just come off looking really thick with no real definition. It just struck me as looking really odd is all.

Yeah, Ken does look like something out of a next-gen Clayfighter a little bit. Hence why I prefer the great animation that 2D offers. Much sharper.
