Dead Space heading to Europe in October

360 News | Just in time for Halloween.
EA have announced today via a press release that their upcoming survival horror title, Dead Space, will be released in Europe and the US on October 31 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Although the press release doesn’t mention an official release date for Australia, given our game releases are often tied with Europe, we assume an Aussie release will be within a similar time frame.

In Dead Space, players assume the role of Isaac Clarke, an engineer who is undertaking a routine mission to repair the communication systems of a deep space mining ship. While repairing the systems, Isaac discovers that the ship has been overrun by vicious aliens who have since killed all crew members. Isaac must now fight through the darkness of space in order to survive.

"Dead Space is being developed as a single-player thriller that delivers the chilling, claustrophobic feeling of being isolated in a dark environment, while being stalked by some truly horrific enemies," Executive Producer Glen Schofield stated. "Halloween is the perfect time for EA to deliver the fear and anxiety that will keep survival horror fans up playing all night."

This is EA's one chance to redeem itself in my books. If this game turns out awesome there might be some hope for EA yet.

I got my wires crossed back when Dark Sector got banned here, thinking that it was this game and I was kind of upset. Thank god that's not the case.
