The Challenge Pack will come in two variants -- free and premium -- in an effort to appease even the cheapest of gamers.
The Free Challenge Pack is the freebie option of the pack. Players who download this option will get one new car (2007 Peugeot Flux) and two new game modes.
Tourist Mode - 'This is a simple mode our forum users have requested. Players drive round an open city for a period of time determined by the host. The player with the most kudos is determined the 'winner', but this is really a sandbox mode where players can drive around looking at the environment and making their own games up.'
Free Roam Cat and Mouse Mode - 'Played in an open city, Free Roam Cat & Mouse is a team based game where each team has a slow 'mouse' vehicle, with the rest of the players in high powered 'cat' vehicles. The mouse earns kudos for every 2 seconds it avoids being hit by enemy cats. On being hit by a cat the mouse is 'wasted' and can't earn kudos for set period of time. Cat players get a kudos reward for hitting an enemy mouse and also for defending their own mouse. The team with the most kudos after a time period set by the host wins the event.'
The Premium Challenge Pack will set players back 400 MS points and will contain all of the content of the Free Challenge Pack as well as the following additional vehicles and a new game mode - World Challenge Arcade Mode, which plays similarly to the Arcade mode that the game shipped with.

Downloading either of the packs will also unlock an additional ten achievements to help prop up your gamerscore. Players should also note that the achievements Platinum Plus, Download King and Arcade Challenge are only unlockable with the Premium Challenge Pack.
The 10 achievements will collectively be worth an extra 250 gamerpoints, with their single values looking like this:
- Tourist Kudos King - Earn more kudos than anyone else in a Tourist Event - 15 points
- Open Cat Champion - Be a cat on the winning team in a Cat and Mouse Open Event - 15 points
- Open Mouse Master - Be a mouse on the winning team in a Cat and Mouse Open Event - 15 points
- Cheater - Activate one of the cheats in the cheat menu - 5 points
- Make the Grade - Attempt to qualify for a Tournament - 10 points
- 01 Yee Haw - Puzzle 4 - 10 points
- Are You the One? - Puzzle 5 - 10 points
- Platinum Plus - Get all the platinum medals in the Platinum Plus Challenge - 60 points
- Download King - Complete the DLC Challenge chapter - 60 points
- Arcade Challenge - Complete Arcade Challenge chapter - 50 points
Both the Free Challenge Pack and Premium Challenge Pack will be available for download this on February 14.
