First shots and details of TNA Impact revealed

360 News | We say wow.
Midway has sent through the latest images of TNA Impact, which is coming to the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

We're always a little wary of images before a game's release, but these images look fantastic. TNA Impact will feature twenty five TNA superstars including Kurt Angle, Booker T, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Christian Cage, Rhino and more. The game will feature a story mode, where players can create a wrestler and customise costumes, ring entrances, move sets and music. The game will also feature online play where players can create tournaments.

Yes but on a positive note, TNA iMPACT will also feature good wrestlers such as confirmed Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Abyss, Christopher Daniels, Senshi, Eric Young, LAX, Motor City Machine Guns and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal.

Here's who I hope they put in there too: Chris Harris, Kaz, James Storm, Tomko (considering he and AJ are the Tag Team Champs), Petey Williams and Robert Roode (best heel they have).

The Screens have been released for quite some time.

As for the game, it pretty much is a replica of No Mercy. Originally it was going to be like Mortal Kombat, but wrestlers Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Christian Cage pretty much gave Midway a talking, and now it's going to play like an updated No Mercy.

It even has the entrances cut down like in No Mercy 64 so you get to the game play quicker.

Personally, I can't wait.

Been holding out for this to be my next wrestling fix for the last year or two. While I have stopped following the TNA product a non WWE wrestling game will hopefully bring back the fun times that the WWE games used to be.

Hopefully it will sell well... being released in a time period completely different to when the Smackdown games are released should give it a boost.

If it does well, there's an outside chance that the Smackdown titles will finally fix a few of the nagging issues that have been around for years now to make an effort to compete with TNA, which from everything I've seen, looks to have far more fluid and intuitive gameplay.

Then again, WWE does still firmly have the wrestling market in the palm of its hand, so they probably won't change their games considering they'll always sell like hotcakes anyway.

So far we haven't seen anything from Tony Hawk after Skate should be scaring Neversoft.

The smackdown series in my view, gameplay has been going downhill for quite a few years now, just like Tony Hawk. If Vince has anything to do with it, he will do his typical TNA thing and just pretend it doesn't exist.

I do consider TNA to be a superior wrestling brand than WWE (especially when Cena is around) but weather this translates over to a superior video game is yet to be seen

You would still say that now that he has signed with WWE?

It will be refreshing to see another wrestling video game franchise, and at least the Smackdown vs Raw games will have some competition. THQ/Yukes were getting incredibly lazy with it in my opinion so maybe the TNA game will provide a bit of freshness and innovation and get the Smackdown guys to work a bit harder.

Then again, I might be expecting too much.

No, not anymore (heard about the signing later). I thought the Harris/WWE stuff was just talk (maybe to get a better deal from TNA) but agreed, Harris... out of the game.

I never thought he'd actually sign with Vince

It's pretty disappointing from a as a TNA fan to see one of the guys who's been there basically the whole time, and been in some of the best matches the company has produced walk away for the money to a watered down product that tries to cause it's fans to kill themselves by throwing Cena so far down everyone's throat.

One of these days game developers will realize that shadows cast from the same light source cannot stack up >_>

Some people have very high hopes for this game it seems

"This thing is going to be the biggest hit of any video game ever" - Kurt Angle

Yeah Kurt Angle has become pretty arrogant since joining TNA.
