New Mass Effect content coming

360 News | Over an hour of extra gameplay available in March.
Bioware have revealed that the first in what will be a series of downloadable add-on's for its popular Sci-Fi RPG, Mass Effect, will be available for download in March.

The add-on is called 'Bring Down the Sky', and it includes a new world that introduces a new alien race called the Batarians. Adding around 90 minutes of extra gameplay to what is already a rather long gaming experience, Commander Shepard will have to try and save the world of Terra Nova as a mobile asteroid station heads dangerously towards it; thanks to a Batarian extremist group, of course.

As well as the extra gameplay, the pack will also bring with it a new Achievement worth 50 Gamerscore points. The Bring Down the Sky downloadable content pack will be available for download on March 10th for 400 Microsoft Points.

I just hope they haven't repeated the same uncharted planet base design that they used on every other damn planet.

^^ Sounds like it will be a story driven planet like those in the main storyline currently.

Awesome news! Definate purchase.

'Batarians' eh? Does Adam West do any voice-work for it? Perhaps they hooked the Asteroid with a giant Batarang? icon_shifty.gif

Oh, I can't actually hate on more ME content - even if it does have silly names.

Don't tell me you don't remember who the Batarians are. You know, the race that lives out in those outlaw systems and have an intense hatred for humanity. They're slavers and so on. Get you head back into that codex!

Oops, I forgot to comment on the actual news. Yeah... I think I'll wait a bit to see how this received. I still hate the entire concept of microtransactions, even if it for a game like Mass Effect.

^ this will probably break my abstinence from micro-transactions.

Oh come on, like half my posts lately have included some variation of 'OH GEE I REALLY SHOULD GET BACK TO MASS EFFECT AND FINISH IT' - you know I'm out of the game icon_razz.gif

You have a point. But when it comes to Mass Effect lore, it will not stand. This stuff needs to be burned into your mind! Besides, I haven't picked it up in some time either. I may not have played the game in months, but I still reread the codex in it's entirety on a daily basis, right after morning prayer at the Shrine of Ray, Greg and Casey icon_nn.gif

Your devotion is something we should all aim to attain.

Right. Well then, if I even happen to see a 'Church of the Divine Elcor' pop up around Melbourne I'll know who to hold responsible... icon_razz.gif
