Aussie version of GTA IV completely uncensored

360 News | Rockstar confirms the good news for us.
A few of our readers have been emailing in and asking whether the Australian version of Grand Theft Auto IV would be censored in any way.

Well, we decided to check with Rockstar, who provided the response that many Australians have been waiting for. A Rockstar spokesperson provided the following response to the question of whether GTA IV has been censored "No GTA has been censored since Vice City. (Grand Theft Auto) IV has been rated in its entirety, the rating is on the OFLC website"

Good news all round then, it's safe to buy the game from Australia on the 29th of April, now we're just counting the days.

Oh, good news! Thanks for making the relevant inquiries and clearing that little worry from my mind!

What a perfect way to start the day. But I thought Vice City was censored, seeing as in GTA3 you could shoot/blast limbs off people.

I'm more worred about Ninja Gaiden 2 getting censored.

At least you can import GTA 4 from the US (PS3).

Well if you read the article properly you would've noticed:

That would've suggested Vice City was censored.

This is great news, now I will keep my pre-order at GAME and not bother to import from overseas.

edit

Just looked at my deposit slip from GAME for GTA IV SE and noticed the code they have given for the game:

Great news, I hope that it doesn't mean that the game hasn't been completely toned down though.

Huzzah, makes me glad about that pre-order I got on Friday.

Thank buddah for that!

Wouldn't suprise me if something changed after it was on store shelves. So better get it day 1, to ensure you get the uncensored version, just in case some bullshit pressure groups force the OFLC to "reclassify" the game.

They CANNOT censor Ninja Gaiden II, unless they want to completely ruin a game that basically flaunts its sexually arousing amounts of gore.

This is good news indeed. But as it is, NGII cannot be censored or limbs will fly in REAL time.

Pre-Ordered my copy today (standard edition).

I haven't been this excited about a game in a very long time! and it's so great to hear that it won't be censored because after reading recent previews that mentioned brain jam splattering on the back of the cab when i guy got pooped in the head while driving his truck icon_smile.gif i just get all giddy inside.

"mentioned brain jam splattering on the back of the cab when i guy got pooped in the head while driving his truck"

Is "brain jam" what the kids are calling it these days when someone gets pooped in the head?
and more to the point why has GTA been reduced to throwing faeces around that people are being "pooped" in their head?

spelling nazi? maybe...
damnededly hilarious? definitely!

leave my poor spelling alone
