New Just Cause 2 info and screens

360 News | Looking mighty schmick.
The first details of Just Cause 2 were revealed earlier in the month, and now a delightful deluge of screenshots has arrived - take a look in the media panel to see how it's shaping up.

A new press release from Eidos Interactive, the game's developer and publisher, has given us a few more snippets of info. Apparently the sequel to 2006's very commercially successful Just Cause will feature an island 1000 sq km big, and numerous new vehicles will also be available for the game's protaganist, Rico Rodriguez, to take control of using an 'advanced driving model'. The grappling hook has been improved, and the weapons arsenal has expanded too.

Alex Price, Eidos's Brand Manager, had this to say about the sequel: 'Remember everything you loved about Just Cause, then take it to the next level: vehicles, stunts, weapons, freedom, grappling hook, action, everything. The game world is even more incredible in Just Cause 2 and Rico has done a bit of growing up, so expect quite a few new surprises up his sleeves."

Just Cause 2 should be out in the next few months for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Those particle effects are sick.

Totally looking out for this. Loved the first one on 360, was an absolute blast to play.

Schmick is definitely the word!

To be honest, I am 100% skeptical that those explosion/smoke particle effects are not 'shopped or touched up in some way. I mean, if those are legit... just wow.

I always meant to pick up the first Just Cause, but if there is any legitimacy to these screens then I'll happily wait it out for the second.

Those are some of the best looking smoke effects/explosions I've seen since Mercenaries. I enjoyed the first game but if this is only going to be more of the same, I may have to pass.

The original was good, but it ultimately felt very shallow. I only stuck with it till the end because of the err... achievements, and on the mission front, only the big finale was worth remembering (it really was; wow it was cool).

For a shallow game, it was still fun but like I said, Just Cause 2 needs a bit of improvement in the gameplay area before I give it a look.

I'm currently enjoying the first one immensely (although now that i'm about 3/4 of the way through, it is starting to feel like work) so i'll be looking forward to this, looks fantastic. It was only $25 also, which probably helps my enjoyment of it a little also icon_smile.gif
